GIGABYTE Supercharges AORUS Elite With LG’s 280Hz Tandem WOLED Display Tech

GIGABYTE Expands Its OLED Gaming Monitor Lineup With New 27-Inch AORUS Elite WOLED Displays

The OLED gaming monitor market is heating up fast, and GIGABYTE is adding more fuel to the competition with two new 27-inch AORUS Elite WOLED models designed for gamers who want speed, deep contrast, and premium image quality.

The new monitors, called the AORUS Elite FO27Q24G and AORUS Elite FO27Q28G, bring high-refresh-rate OLED performance to the 2K gaming segment. With more brands pushing OLED displays into the mainstream gaming space, GIGABYTE’s latest additions aim to stand out by combining fast response times, strong color performance, and advanced OLED protection features.

Both monitors use LG’s Tandem WOLED panel technology, which is built to deliver rich blacks, bright highlights, and impressive overall picture quality. GIGABYTE claims a 1.5M:1 contrast ratio, giving these displays the kind of depth and shadow detail that OLED screens are known for. For gamers, that means darker scenes should look more immersive, while bright effects and colors should appear more vivid.

Color performance is another major focus. The AORUS Elite FO27Q24G and FO27Q28G support true 10-bit color depth and cover 98.5% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. That makes them attractive not only for gaming, but also for users who work with content creation, media editing, and color-sensitive visuals. With Delta E under 2, both monitors are tuned for strong color accuracy right out of the box.

The displays also come with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, which is especially important for OLED panels. Unlike traditional LCD monitors, OLED displays can turn individual pixels off completely, creating much deeper black levels and better contrast in HDR scenes. Combined with the 2K resolution, these monitors are built to offer sharp visuals without putting as much strain on graphics cards as 4K gaming displays.

The biggest difference between the two new AORUS Elite WOLED monitors is refresh rate. The AORUS Elite FO27Q24G offers a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz, making it a strong choice for fast-paced gaming, esports titles, and smooth everyday use. The AORUS Elite FO27Q28G pushes performance even further with a 280 Hz refresh rate, giving competitive players an even more fluid experience.

Both models feature an ultra-fast 0.03 ms response time, which is one of the key advantages of OLED technology. This helps reduce motion blur and ghosting, making fast camera movements and quick reactions feel cleaner and more precise. AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support is also included, helping minimize screen tearing and stuttering during gameplay.

To address long-term OLED reliability, GIGABYTE has equipped these monitors with AI-based OLED Care protection. OLED burn-in has been a concern for some users, especially those who keep static images on screen for long periods. The built-in OLED Care system is designed to help protect the panel and improve durability over time.

GIGABYTE is also offering a 3+1 year warranty with these displays, which should give buyers more confidence when investing in a premium OLED gaming monitor.

Beyond the two newly launched models, GIGABYTE has also confirmed that another AORUS Elite monitor is on the way. The upcoming AORUS Elite FO27Q54G will feature a dual-mode setup with 540 Hz and 720 Hz modes. That model is expected to target ultra-competitive gamers who prioritize extreme refresh rates above all else.

With the AORUS Elite FO27Q24G and FO27Q28G, GIGABYTE is strengthening its position in the growing OLED gaming monitor market. These new 27-inch WOLED displays combine 2K resolution, fast refresh rates, near-instant response times, HDR support, wide color coverage, and OLED-specific protection features.

For gamers looking to upgrade from a traditional LCD monitor, GIGABYTE’s latest AORUS Elite WOLED displays could be compelling options, especially for those who want the visual impact of OLED without moving to a larger 4K screen.
