GIGABYTE Expands Its AM5 Lineup With the B850 AORUS ELITE X3D Motherboard
GIGABYTE has added a new motherboard to its AM5 family with the launch of the B850 AORUS ELITE X3D, a board designed with AMD Ryzen X3D processors in mind. The new model strengthens GIGABYTE’s B850 lineup by focusing on stronger power delivery, modern connectivity, and performance tuning features aimed at gamers and PC enthusiasts.
The B850 AORUS ELITE X3D appears to be a close relative of the existing B850 AORUS Elite series, but this version is built specifically to get more out of AMD’s 3D V-Cache processors. Ryzen X3D chips behave differently from standard Ryzen CPUs when it comes to tuning and performance optimization, so GIGABYTE has included dedicated features to help users take advantage of these processors more effectively.
One of the biggest highlights is the motherboard’s 20-phase power design, arranged as a 16+2+2 VRM configuration. This setup is intended to provide stable and efficient power delivery to the processor, which is especially important for high-performance gaming systems and demanding workloads. Compared with some other B850 AORUS models, the B850 AORUS ELITE X3D offers a more premium feature set and stronger overall platform support.
The board also includes several enthusiast-friendly onboard features. Users get a debug code display for easier troubleshooting, multiple fan headers, AIO pump headers for liquid cooling setups, integrated RGB lighting, and large heatsinks designed to help keep key components cool during heavy use. These additions make the motherboard appealing not only for performance-focused builds but also for users who want a clean, customizable gaming PC.
Connectivity is another strong point of the B850 AORUS ELITE X3D. The rear I/O panel includes multiple USB Type-A ports for accessories and peripherals, along with two fast USB Type-C ports for newer devices. It also comes with built-in wireless connectivity, 2.5G LAN for faster wired networking, and convenient onboard controls such as power, reset, clear CMOS, and Q-Flash buttons.
For memory support, the motherboard includes four DIMM slots and supports up to 256GB of DDR5 memory. GIGABYTE lists memory speeds of up to 8200 MT/s, giving users plenty of headroom for high-speed RAM kits. This makes the board a strong option for gaming, streaming, content creation, and productivity builds that need both speed and capacity.
Expansion support includes dual PCIe x16 slots, with support for both PCIe Gen 5.0 and Gen 4.0 interfaces. This gives builders flexibility when installing modern graphics cards, storage expansion cards, or other high-bandwidth components.
The standout feature, however, is support for GIGABYTE’s X3D Turbo Mode 2.0. This platform-level optimization technology is designed specifically for Ryzen X3D processors and offers multiple performance profiles. Users can choose from Standard, Max Performance, and Extreme Gaming modes, allowing the system to adjust behavior based on the desired balance between efficiency and peak gaming performance.
With X3D Turbo Mode 2.0, GIGABYTE is aiming to make Ryzen X3D tuning simpler for users who want better performance without manually adjusting complex BIOS settings. Since AMD’s 3D V-Cache processors are especially popular among gamers, this feature could make the B850 AORUS ELITE X3D an attractive choice for high-FPS gaming PCs.
At the moment, GIGABYTE has not announced pricing or availability for the B850 AORUS ELITE X3D. However, with its strong VRM design, DDR5 support, PCIe Gen 5.0 compatibility, extensive connectivity, and Ryzen X3D-focused tuning features, the motherboard is shaping up to be a compelling option for AM5 builders looking for a capable B850 platform.
