Genmab Unveils Pioneering “AI Everywhere” Program with ChatGPT Enterprise Integration

Danish biotech giant Genmab, celebrating 25 years in the industry, has seen exponential growth, recently tripling its workforce. As a leader in next-generation antibody therapies targeting cancer and other severe diseases, the company is handling an ever-increasing volume of complex data. To streamline this process, Genmab swiftly adopted ChatGPT Enterprise shortly after its launch by OpenAI. This advanced subscription plan offers enhanced security, privacy, powerful data analysis, and customization features. Initially acquiring about 1,000 licenses, Genmab has now expanded to 2,000 more as part of its ambitious “AI Everywhere” initiative, aimed at embedding artificial intelligence across all research and development sectors.

Genmab’s approach to integrating ChatGPT Enterprise has been straightforward yet highly effective. Employees were prompted to input their job descriptions into the AI, asking it how it could assist them. Farhat Siddiqui, ChatGPT Product Manager at Genmab, noted, “Learning to use ChatGPT has been a transformative journey for our employees. Our comprehensive training programs and personalized guidance have empowered them to embrace innovative ways of thinking and problem-solving.” With the customizable features available to enterprise customers, Genmab leverages over 100 unique AI instances for tasks ranging from drafting documents and summarizing scientific literature to performing intricate data analyses.

One standout tool is the AI Translator GPT, which has remarkably achieved human-accuracy levels in translating complex scientific documents using OpenAI’s models. This innovation has effectively replaced entire translation teams, including translators, editors, and specialized agents, thereby saving both time and money.

A recent survey highlighted that Genmab employees save an average of 3.5 hours per week thanks to ChatGPT Enterprise, with many considering it an integral part of their daily workflow. The average number of ChatGPT Enterprise interactions per week has reached 120, underscoring its significant role in enhancing productivity. This collaboration between Genmab and OpenAI promises to expedite the development of more efficient and cost-effective treatments, ultimately benefiting patients more rapidly.
