Garmin is moving quickly with fresh software improvements for its Instinct lineup. A new beta update, version 13.24, is now rolling out to Garmin Instinct 3, Instinct E, and Instinct Crossover smartwatches—arriving roughly 24 hours after the prior beta release, version 13.23.
The main focus of Garmin beta 13.24 is a fix tied to the Smart Wake alarm feature. Smart Wake is designed to wake you at a more ideal moment based on your sleep cycle rather than forcing a single exact alarm time. Instead, you choose a target time and the watch can trigger the alarm within a 30-minute window to help you wake more naturally.
In this latest beta update, Garmin addresses an issue where users could see a time window displayed for a normal alarm even when Smart Wake was turned off. With beta version 13.24, that confusing behavior has been corrected, making alarm settings clearer and more consistent.
This follows the previous beta update, version 13.23, which also delivered an important stability fix. That earlier release resolved a problem where broadcasting heart rate data could cause the Instinct 3, Instinct E, and Instinct Crossover models to unexpectedly crash.
Garmin says beta version 13.24 is being pushed to all eligible users. The update should install automatically the next time your watch syncs with Garmin Connect Mobile or connects through Garmin Express.
