Garmin is rolling out a fresh beta software update for several of its high-end outdoor smartwatches, bringing new golf sensor support, smarter LiveTrack options, and a batch of performance improvements and bug fixes. The new beta, version 22.23, is now available for the Fenix 8 AMOLED, Fenix 8 Solar, Enduro 3, Fenix E, Tactix 8 AMOLED, and Tactix 8 Solar. This update continues Garmin’s 22.xx beta testing cycle, which kicked off earlier in April 2026.
One of the biggest additions in beta version 22.23 is support for the Approach CT1 club sensors. Golfers who use these sensors can track shots more easily, adding another useful data layer for anyone who relies on their Garmin watch for golf performance insights.
Garmin is also upgrading LiveTrack, a feature within the Garmin Connect app that lets you share your real-time location with friends and family. With this update, users can set LiveTrack to automatically turn on for selected activity types. That means you won’t have to remember to enable it every time before heading out for a run, ride, hike, or other supported workout—especially helpful for safety and peace of mind during outdoor activities.
Beyond new features, Garmin says version 22.23 improves timer responsiveness on the Fenix 8 family and related models, making the tool feel quicker and more reliable during use. The update also addresses a range of bugs tied to Garmin Coach workouts, multisport workouts, and climbing-focused activity tracking such as rock climbing and bouldering. Another important fix targets course navigation, resolving an issue that could cause missing turn arrows—an annoyance that can matter a lot when you’re relying on on-watch directions mid-activity.
To install beta version 22.23, users can manually check for it on their watch by going to Menu > System > Software Update > Check for Updates.
As is common with Garmin beta releases, certain features are temporarily disabled during testing. ECG and Dive functions won’t be available while running this beta software on supported devices. It’s also worth noting that this particular beta update is not being offered to testers using the Fenix 8 Pro.
