Garmin pushes stability update to older flagship smartwatches, squashing surprise shutdowns and delivering extra refinements

Garmin pushes new beta firmware v23.35 to Fenix 7 series with stability boost and crash fix

Just over a week after its last test build, Garmin is back with a fresh beta update for the Fenix 7, Fenix 7 Pro (often priced around $539), and related high-end smartwatches. The new firmware, version 23.35, is rolling out over the air to participants in the company’s Beta Program, and Garmin says the deployment has already reached all eligible devices.

While the march toward a stable release continues, two notable limitations remain: Dive features and ECG are still disabled in this build. That suggests at least one more beta round is likely before recent changes graduate to the stable channel.

What’s new in Beta Version 23.35 compared to v23.31:
– Improved inReach Remote stability, building on the focus of the previous beta.
– Fixed a bug that could trigger a device shutdown when opening the activity selection list.

If you’re enrolled in the Beta Program, the update should arrive automatically via OTA. For details on participating devices, known issues, and full release notes, check Garmin’s official support resources.
