GAMEMAX is expanding its lineup with the new MAX PB series power supply units, a budget-friendly range designed for modern PC builds that still need dependable power delivery. With wattage options that scale up to 850W and support for the latest Intel ATX 3.1 standard, these PSUs are positioned as an affordable choice for gamers and everyday builders who want solid compatibility with today’s power-hungry components.
The MAX PB series is 80 Plus Bronze certified, targeting over 80% efficiency during typical use. Better efficiency generally means less wasted energy and reduced heat output, which can help overall system stability—especially in entry-level and mid-range builds where airflow and cooling might be more limited.
These are non-modular power supplies, meaning all cables come permanently attached. That’s common at this price point and can be perfectly fine for straightforward builds, though cable management may take a bit more planning compared to modular alternatives.
GAMEMAX is offering four models in this lineup: 550W, 650W, 750W, and 850W. Notably, the 750W and 850W units include 12V-2×6 connector cables, aimed at ensuring compatibility with newer graphics cards that use the latest GPU power standard, including RTX 50 series models. For systems built around GPUs like the RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti, the higher-wattage MAX PB options are positioned to provide sufficient headroom. Because they’re ATX 3.1 compliant, these PSUs are also designed to handle up to 200% power excursions, which helps maintain stable operation during sudden power spikes that can occur under heavy gaming or rendering loads.
On the component side, GAMEMAX says the MAX PB lineup uses 100% Japanese capacitors sourced from well-known makers such as Rubycon, Nippon-Chemicon, and Nichicon, which is a reassuring detail for long-term reliability in a budget PSU category. The company also lists a set of built-in safety protections, including OPP, UVP, OTP, SCP, OCP, NLP, and SIP, aimed at protecting both the power supply and your PC components from common electrical risks.
Warranty coverage is listed at three years. That’s acceptable for budget-focused power supplies, although it won’t stand out against longer warranties offered on more premium models.
