Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 features revealed through companion app teardown
Samsung appears to be getting closer to launching its next affordable fitness tracker, the Galaxy Fit 4. The new wearable is expected to succeed the Galaxy Fit 3, which arrived in February 2024, and early software findings suggest the upcoming band could bring a familiar but more refined fitness-tracking experience.
Rumors around the Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 first began circulating earlier this year, with reports pointing to a possible launch before the end of the year. The device was also reportedly spotted in regulatory certification, adding more weight to the idea that Samsung is preparing the tracker for release. More recently, app-based findings revealed the wearable’s possible design and color options, and now a deeper look inside the companion app has uncovered several expected features.
One of the interesting discoveries involves notification controls. The companion app appears to include two notification behavior options: “Smart device selection” and “Always show on both.” These settings seem designed to let users decide whether notifications should appear intelligently between the phone and the fitness band or remain visible on both devices at the same time. This could make the Galaxy Fit 4 more flexible for users who want better control over alerts during workouts, commutes, or daily routines.
The Galaxy Fit 4 is also expected to support Tiles, which are quick-view screens that show important information directly on the tracker’s display. According to the app findings, users may be able to scroll through up to 12 Tiles, making it easier to access fitness stats, health data, and other shortcuts without digging through menus.
The companion app also includes watch face assets measuring 258 x 428 pixels, which may hint at the display layout and screen resolution Samsung is targeting for the Galaxy Fit 4. Multiple watch faces are expected, giving users options to personalize the home screen based on their style or the health metrics they want to see at a glance.
Find My Phone integration also appears to be included. This feature is especially useful for anyone who frequently misplaces their smartphone, allowing the fitness tracker to help locate the connected device quickly.
Health and fitness tracking look like a major focus for the Galaxy Fit 4. The app references daily tracking for steps, active time, and calories burned through activity. Heart-rate monitoring also appears to be supported, along with high and low heart-rate alerts, giving users more insight into their cardiovascular health throughout the day.
Stress tracking may also be part of the package. The Galaxy Fit 4 is expected to support manual stress checks, continuous stress measurement, and high-stress alerts. For users who rely on wearables to monitor wellness beyond workouts, these features could make the device more useful as an everyday health companion.
Workout tracking is another key area. The fitness band is expected to offer automatic activity recognition, dedicated workout Tiles, and heart-rate zone information. These features should help users track exercise more easily, whether they are walking, running, cycling, or doing other fitness activities.
Additional wellness features are expected to work through Samsung Health. These may include daily goals, cycle tracking, water and food logging, breathing exercises, and other health-related tools. With Samsung Health integration, the Galaxy Fit 4 could serve as a lightweight entry point into Samsung’s broader fitness ecosystem.
Samsung has not yet confirmed the official Galaxy Fit 4 price or release date. However, with companion app references and certification activity already appearing, the launch may not be far away.
The Galaxy Fit 4 is expected to compete in the growing fitness tracker market, where affordable wearables continue to attract users who want health tracking, workout monitoring, notifications, and long battery life without paying smartwatch prices. If Samsung keeps the price competitive, the Galaxy Fit 4 could become a strong option for Android users looking for a simple and capable fitness band.
