GALAX’s GeForce RTX 5090 D has shattered overclocking records, reaching impressive heights in 3DMark Port Royal, Unigine Superposition, and GPUPI with a clock speed of 3650 MHz. This achievement, led by Team OGS, highlights the capabilities of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 D, especially the model from GALAX.
Team OGS, renowned for breaking world records, used the GALAX GeForce RTX 5090 D XOC GPU, paired with an Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU and an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 APEX Encore motherboard. According to Stavros of Team OGS, the setup included an XOC BIOS with a power limit reaching up to 2000W. The GALAX RTX 5090 D HOF XOC leverages two 12V-2×6 connectors, each capable of delivering 600W, allowing for substantial overclocking headroom.
During this session, the GPU surpassed 3.6 GHz in one test and over 3.5 GHz in two others. The pinnacle was a clock speed of 3650 MHz achieved in the GPUPI benchmark, completing with a score of 39.434 seconds (32B Score). The memory speeds reached an impressive 36 Gbps, marking a 28.5% hike over the standard 28 Gbps of the GDDR7 memory in the RTX 5090. The stock GeForce RTX 5090/D typically has a bandwidth of 1.792 TB/s, while the overclocked performance jumps to 2.304 TB/s.
The dedication of overclocking teams like OGS continues to stretch the limits of GPU technology. It’s particularly fascinating that only the 5090 D has been pushed to such extremes so far, hinting at even more astounding overclocking potential as these advanced BIOS and PCBs become accessible with regular GeForce RTX 5090 GPUs.
