Fujifilm X100VI to Debut on February 20, X-Pro4 and X-E5 Release Dates Postponed

Fujifilm has been a leader in producing rangefinder-style cameras, boasting a lineup that includes the popular X100V, the premium X-Pro3, and the more affordable X-E4. Fans of the series appreciate the retro design coupled with modern technology and the versatility offered by interchangeable lenses.

While the X-Pro4 and X-E5 were initially anticipated to launch in 2024, recent rumors suggest that enthusiasts may need to wait longer for these models. According to sources, the X100VI is slated for release at the Fujifilm X-Summit scheduled for February 20. On the other hand, there are no precise release dates for the X-Pro4 and X-E5, and their arrival might be significantly later than the X100VI. Currently, details regarding the launch of these eagerly awaited cameras remain scarce, and the X-E5 remains a product shrouded in mystery.

Fujifilm has not conventionally released all cameras in the series simultaneously, and past release patterns support this staggered scheduling. For instance, the interval between the X100V and the X-Pro3 launch dates was approximately six months, and it was over a year before the X-E4 entered the market after the X100V.

Excitement is high for the upcoming X100VI, anticipated to bring significant enhancements such as the 40 MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and the X-Processor 5, features found in the Fujifilm X-T5. Prospects of integrated In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) also add to the allure, especially among fans loyal to the X100 series. However, photographers with a collection of Fujifilm X-Mount lenses or those preferring non-fixed focal length cameras may need to exercise patience for the next upgrade.

In the interim, for those desiring a compact camera without a strong preference for the traditional rangefinder style, the Fujifilm X-S20 is an available option. Priced at around $1,399 with a kit lens, the X-S20 provides a modern alternative for photography enthusiasts seeking a capable and portable camera.

As it stands, the Fujifilm faithful have the X100VI to look forward to in February while the anticipation continues to build for the X-Pro4 and X-E5’s future debut.
