Framework Laptop 13 Pro Prices Rise as LPCAMM2 Memory Costs More Than Double
The ongoing surge in memory prices is starting to hit laptop buyers harder, and Framework is the latest PC maker forced to adjust its pricing. The company has confirmed another price increase for its products, with the biggest impact coming from LPCAMM2 LPDDR5X memory used in the Framework Laptop 13 Pro.
Memory prices have been climbing for months across the PC industry, affecting OEMs, system builders, and consumers. While many brands have tried to absorb some of the added cost, Framework says the latest increase is too large to handle without putting pressure on its business.
According to the company, it expected LPCAMM2 costs to rise by a low-to-mid double-digit percentage between Q2 and Q3. Instead, its supplier delivered a much steeper update: the price of LPCAMM2 modules has more than doubled compared to the previous inventory Framework had purchased.
That sudden jump is now being passed on to buyers, especially those choosing higher memory configurations for the Framework Laptop 13 Pro.
The new pricing is significant. Adding 16 GB of LPCAMM2 LPDDR5X memory currently costs $239, but larger configurations have become dramatically more expensive. The 32 GB option, which was previously around $439, has now increased to $800. The 64 GB configuration has climbed from $849 to $1,600.
Framework says it will keep the 16 GB memory option at its current price for now, but only while existing stock remains available. Once that inventory runs out, the company expects the 16 GB option to rise as well because its replacement inventory was purchased at a much higher cost.
The company is also making adjustments to some pre-orders. Customers who already placed orders for the Framework Laptop 13 Pro will still receive their devices at the original price, but not every order will keep the original memory configuration. Framework says it currently has enough 64 GB modules to cover laptop pre-orders through Batch 4 and Mainboard pre-orders through Batch 7. Orders beyond those batches that selected 64 GB memory will be changed to 32 GB modules at the original 32 GB module price.
The price pressure is not limited to memory. Framework also noted that Core Ultra Series 3 processor price increases are affecting certain configurations, including X7 and X9 models.
This update highlights how volatile the PC hardware market has become. LPCAMM2 memory is valued for its compact design, high efficiency, and repair-friendly modular approach, making it an important part of newer premium laptops. However, as supply costs rise sharply, those benefits are becoming more expensive for manufacturers and consumers alike.
