Framework Laptop 13 Pro gets limited-time LPCAMM2 memory price cuts for select buyers
Framework is giving some Laptop 13 Pro customers a welcome break on LPCAMM2 memory pricing after securing a limited supply of lower-cost RAM modules. The move comes at a time when DRAM shortages have pushed memory prices higher across the industry, making premium laptop configurations significantly more expensive than many buyers expected.
The Laptop 13 Pro stands out because of its support for LPCAMM2 memory, a newer memory format designed to deliver strong bandwidth while still preserving upgradeability. That fits closely with Framework’s long-running focus on repairable and user-upgradable laptops. However, the recent rise in supplier costs made higher-capacity memory options much more expensive, forcing the company to raise prices on certain configurations.
Now, Framework says it has managed to source a limited quantity of Micron 32GB and 64GB LPCAMM2 memory modules at a better cost. Instead of keeping the savings, the company is applying reduced pricing to eligible Laptop 13 Pro orders.
The price reduction will not apply to every buyer or every future batch. Framework says the lower pricing will cover certain already shipped orders and a portion of pending pre-orders, including customers through Batch 10. Buyers in those eligible groups who already paid the higher memory prices will receive a refund for the difference.
Framework explained that its supply chain team has been working to find additional inventory at more reasonable prices since supplier cost increases forced earlier changes to memory configurations and pricing. While the newly secured LPCAMM2 modules are still more expensive than the original pre-order pricing baseline, they are cheaper than the pricing introduced during the last cost adjustment.
This means the discount is more of a limited correction than a permanent price drop. Customers placing new orders should not automatically expect the same reduced memory pricing unless Framework manages to secure more affordable inventory in the future.
At the time of the update, Framework’s U.S. store listed the 32GB LPCAMM2 memory option at $800, while the 64GB option was priced at $1,600. Those prices show just how costly high-capacity LPCAMM2 modules remain during the current memory supply crunch.
For buyers who value upgradeable laptops, the Framework Laptop 13 Pro remains an important product because it offers a path away from permanently soldered memory. The temporary price relief on 32GB and 64GB LPCAMM2 configurations should make the system more appealing to early customers who were affected by the recent cost hikes.
Still, availability is limited, and Framework has made it clear that the lower pricing depends on the specific inventory it was able to obtain.
