Fairbuds 2 Release Date and Price Finally Unveiled

Fairbuds 2 Launch Set for October 14 With Replaceable Parts and LDAC Audio

Fairphone is preparing to introduce its next-generation wireless earbuds, the Fairbuds 2, on October 14. The upcoming earbuds are expected to continue the brand’s well-known focus on repairability, sustainability, and longer product lifespans, while also bringing a meaningful audio upgrade for users who want better wireless sound quality.

The Fairbuds 2 will reportedly feature seven fully replaceable modular components. That means users should be able to repair or swap key parts instead of replacing the entire pair of earbuds when something wears out or breaks. This approach builds on the original Fairbuds design and strengthens Fairphone’s position as one of the few consumer tech brands prioritizing repair-friendly wireless earbuds.

One of the biggest upgrades coming with the Fairbuds 2 is support for Sony’s LDAC Bluetooth codec. This is a notable improvement over the first-generation Fairbuds, which supported SBC and AAC audio codecs. LDAC can deliver higher-resolution wireless audio when paired with compatible devices, making the Fairbuds 2 more appealing to listeners who care about sound quality.

The Fairbuds 2 are expected to launch first in Europe with a price of €119. That would make them cheaper at launch than the original Fairbuds, which arrived in 2024 for €149. A United States release is also planned, with pricing expected to be $119, although an exact US launch date has not yet been confirmed.

With a lower expected launch price, modular construction, and improved Bluetooth audio support, the Fairbuds 2 could become an attractive option for buyers looking for sustainable wireless earbuds that are easier to repair than most mainstream alternatives.

The first-generation Fairbuds are currently available at a reduced price, so shoppers may want to compare both models before buying. However, for those who want improved audio performance and the latest repairable design, the Fairbuds 2 look set to be the more future-ready choice.
