Decathlon, the renowned sports retailer, has recently introduced the 2024 edition of the Neomouv Raipon 2 VTC Bike to the French market. This new version comes with a variety of updates and a notably reduced price point compared to its earlier iterations.
The Neomouv Raipon 2 maintains the same robust 250W mid-mounted motor found in previous models, delivering up to 80Nm of torque. Giving riders a helping hand, it includes a pedal sensor that intelligently adjusts the level of assistance based on the cyclist’s input. Even though the battery capacity has seen a slight decrease from 547Wh to 518.4Wh, the e-bike’s assistance range is still impressive, offering approximately 100 km (roughly 62 miles) on a full charge.
In an upgrade to the bike’s components, the previous Zoom suspension fork offering 65mm travel has been swapped out in favor of a SUNTOUR model, which provides 63 mm of travel for a smooth ride over bumps and uneven surfaces. The Shimano Altus 9-speed derailleur remains in place to ensure seamless shifting, and for stopping power, the bike is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes featuring 160mm discs both at the front and rear.
Aesthetic improvements include a high-step-through aluminum frame now presented in an appealing light blue color as opposed to the former khaki. For a tech-savvy touch, the e-bike is fitted with a color LCD that displays essential ride information like speed and battery life. Additionally, with Bluetooth connectivity, riders can access the myNEOMOUV app for additional settings and cycling data insights.
On the practical side, the Raipon 2 is accessorized with a 27kg (approximately 60 lbs) capacity luggage rack, which is perfect for carrying personal items or shopping bags. To keep you clean and visible, the bike is also equipped with mudguards and lights. Although the exact weight of the new model is not specified, those interested can draw a comparison with the older model’s weight of 26 kg (around 57 lbs). Decathlon reinforces the bike’s robust build, stating it can support up to 120 kg (approximately 265 lbs).
Currently available for purchase, the Decathlon Neomouv Raipon 2 VTC Bike is priced at an attractive €2,199, offering a substantial saving of €400 compared to its prior models priced at €2,599.
