Intel’s upcoming Arrow Lake-S Desktop CPUs have made an early debut on the Chinese marketplace Taobao, revealing intriguing details about the next-gen processors.
The Arrow Lake-S “Core Ultra 200” chips maintain the traditional look of their predecessors but with a noteworthy change in the pin count, moving from 1700 to 1851 pins. This change signifies that they won’t be cross-compatible with the older sockets, ensuring users can’t mistakenly fit them into the LGA 1700 sockets.
A Twitter user provided insights into these early samples, showcasing six CPUs that align with previously leaked designs, further cementing their authenticity. Each sample bears the mark ‘INTEL CONFIDENTIAL NA QDF4’, indicating they’re engineering samples and not final retail units. The samples reveal specific details like the distinct cuts on the IHS (integrated heat spreader) and an increased IHS height, possibly to prevent bending issues.
Despite these samples being available for about ¥196807.18 on Taobao, it’s advised not to purchase them as they are not intended for consumers. The final retail versions will come with proper naming and are expected to be revealed on October 10th, with a launch date set for October 24th.
As Intel prepares to officially usher in the Arrow Lake-S CPUs, enthusiasts and tech watchers are eagerly awaiting more details and the official release. These early glimpses offer a tantalizing preview, hinting at the exciting advancements in Intel’s future CPU lineup.
