The luxurious Cadillac Escalade IQ is now available for pre-order in the United States, standing out not only as the electric SUV with the longest range according to Cadillac but also as the electric vehicle with the largest battery on the market. Previously, a version of the RAM 1500 REV held the record with a 229 kWh battery and a projected 500-mile range. However, recent developments reveal that Stellantis has informed its suppliers to halt production of this model, focusing instead on a 350-mile version equipped with a 168 kWh battery. This puts the RAM 1500 REV among other long-range vehicles that never made it to production, akin to Tesla’s decision to cancel the 500-mile Cybertruck.
With these changes, the spotlight turns to the Cadillac Escalade IQ, marking its territory as the electric vehicle with the largest battery. The Escalade’s impressive 217 kWh battery pack delivers an EPA-certified range of 460 miles—nearly hitting the elusive 500-mile mark that major automakers have struggled to achieve.
Starting at a price point of $130,000, the Escalade IQ is not only heavy, tipping the scales at 9,300 pounds without passengers, but also packed with high-end features. This premium 7-seater is larger than the Cybertruck and offers a suite of impressive specifications, including rapid 350 kW charging capabilities, a swift 0-60 mph acceleration in just five seconds, and a power output of up to 750 HP.
Luxury is at the forefront with the Cadillac Escalade IQ, which includes all the hallmark design elements and comforts associated with the brand. It boasts a striking 55-inch pillar-to-pillar main display and an extraordinary 40-speaker audio system. Enhanced maneuverability is achieved through rear-wheel steering, a feature shared with the Tesla Cybertruck. Remarkably, the Escalade can also gain 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes when connected to a suitable charger.
In contrast, the upcoming Lucid Gravity SUV falls slightly behind the Escalade IQ in terms of range, achieving 450 miles with a significantly smaller battery comparable to the Cybertruck’s 123 kWh pack. As electric vehicles continue to evolve, models like the Escalade IQ pave the way with innovation in performance and luxury.
