DS N°7 E-Tense Debuts as a Premium Electric SUV With Up to 460 Miles of Range

DS Automobiles is preparing to expand its electric lineup with the new DS N°7 E-Tense, a premium all-electric SUV designed for long-distance comfort, luxury travel, and strong performance. Set to arrive in European dealerships in fall 2026, the DS N°7 will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed before first deliveries begin later in the year.

Officially styled as DS N°7, the model may also be searched as DS No. 7 or DS No 7, especially in European markets. Positioned as a luxury battery-electric SUV, it combines a sleek aerodynamic design, advanced driver-assistance technology, high-end interior materials, and a choice of three electric powertrains.

Measuring 183.5 inches in length, the DS N°7 E-Tense is built on the STLA Medium platform and has been engineered with efficiency in mind. Its drag coefficient of 0.26 helps improve range and reduce energy consumption, making it a strong option for buyers looking for a premium electric SUV capable of covering long distances.

From the Étoile trim upward, the front design is highlighted by the DS Luminascreen, a distinctive lighting signature featuring vertical light bars. This gives the SUV a futuristic and upscale appearance while reinforcing its position as one of the brand’s flagship electric models.

The DS N°7 E-Tense will be available with three electric powertrain options. The entry-level front-wheel-drive version delivers 227 hp, with output temporarily rising to 256 hp in boost mode. The Long Range front-wheel-drive model increases output to 242 hp, or 276 hp when boost mode is activated.

At the top of the range is the DS N°7 E-Tense AWD Long Range. This version uses two electric motors to power all four wheels, producing 345 hp as standard and up to 370 hp with boost. This all-wheel-drive setup should appeal to drivers who want stronger acceleration, improved traction, and a more confident driving experience in changing road conditions.

Range is one of the biggest selling points of the new DS electric SUV. The entry-level model uses a 73.7 kWh usable battery pack and offers up to 337 miles of driving range. Long Range versions are equipped with a larger 97.2 kWh battery, allowing the DS N°7 E-Tense to achieve up to 460 miles of WLTP range.

For real-world motorway driving, DS states that the larger-battery version can travel more than 249 miles without needing to stop for charging. That makes the DS N°7 particularly attractive for frequent travelers and families who want an electric SUV that feels practical beyond city driving.

Charging performance is also a key focus. The larger battery supports DC fast charging at up to 160 kW. Thanks to a relatively stable charging curve, the SUV can maintain its peak charging speed between 20 and 55 percent battery capacity. Under ideal conditions, drivers can add around 124 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Charging from 20 to 80 percent takes approximately 27 minutes.

Inside, the DS N°7 E-Tense is designed to feel more like a luxury lounge than a conventional SUV cabin. The hand-finished seats can be equipped with heating, ventilation, massage functions, and dedicated neck warmers, creating a comfortable environment for long journeys.

The cockpit features a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a large 16-inch central touchscreen. The infotainment system, known as DS Iris System 2.0, includes integrated AI-powered voice control as standard, allowing drivers and passengers to use more natural voice commands for navigation, media, vehicle functions, and other connected services.

The electric SUV also includes a strong package of safety and assistance features. DS Drive Assist 2.0 provides Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capability, while an infrared night-vision system improves visibility in dark conditions. Adaptive Pixelvision headlights offer a lighting range of up to 1,706 feet, helping improve nighttime driving confidence.

Practicality has not been overlooked. The DS N°7 E-Tense offers between 19.8 and 55.4 cubic feet of cargo space, depending on the rear-seat configuration. A dedicated underfloor storage compartment is included for the charging cable, keeping the main luggage area clean and easy to use.

With its long electric range, fast-charging capability, premium interior, and available all-wheel-drive performance, the DS N°7 E-Tense is shaping up to be a serious contender in the luxury electric SUV segment. For European buyers looking for a stylish alternative to established premium EVs, this French-built electric SUV could become one of the most interesting new arrivals of 2026.
