Epson has introduced its latest Home Cinema 980 3LCD 1080p Projector to the US market, boasting impressive features for home theater enthusiasts. This projector stands out with its ability to project images exceeding 300 inches in width, making movie nights feel like a cinematic experience.
Key features include a native 1080p resolution and advanced 3LCD technology that delivers up to 4,000 lumens of brightness. This ensures vibrant and crisp visuals, whether you’re watching movies or playing games. The projector’s lamp has a typical life of 6,000 hours, which can extend to 12,000 hours in Eco mode, providing plenty of viewing time.
The Home Cinema 980 offers flexibility with its adjustable aspect ratio settings from 16:9 to 16:10 or 4:3, and a dynamic contrast ratio of 16,000:1. Its throw ratio ranges from 1.21 to 1.45, allowing for various installation options.
For convenience, it comes with an automatic vertical and manual horizontal keystone correction to ensure a perfect image alignment. The integrated 2W speaker, along with HDMI, USB-A, and 3.5mm audio jack ports, provides essential connectivity options.
However, it’s worth noting that while the Home Cinema 980 is almost 20% brighter than its counterpart, the Home Cinema 1100, it does not support wireless screen sharing via Miracast or Apple AirPlay.
Available now in the US at retailers like Amazon for $799, the Epson Home Cinema 980 promises to be a great addition to any home entertainment setup. Plans for a release in other regions are yet to be announced.
