Epson Launches Duo of High-Capacity EcoTank All-In-One Printers with Impressive Duty Cycles

Epson has introduced two innovative all-in-one inkjet printers, the EcoTank ET-3950 and EcoTank ET-4950, designed to revolutionize high-volume printing with their large, refillable ink tanks. Ditching traditional cartridges, these Supertank models boast ink tanks capable of holding 127 mL of black ink and 70 mL each for cyan, magenta, and yellow. This design not only reduces waste but also extends maintenance cycles, offering up to 8,500 black and 6,500 color pages before needing a refill. The ink bottles come with coded nozzles to ensure easy and accurate refilling without color mixing mishaps.

Engineered for reliability, the printers carry a recommended monthly duty cycle of 1,600 pages, yet can manage a hefty 10,000 pages if needed. Connectivity is seamless with options including USB, Ethernet, and 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, making printing from any computer, tablet, or smartphone a breeze.

Both models include 2.4-inch LCD screens, while the ET-4950 offers additional touch controls and faxing capabilities. With a print resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi, they efficiently handle documents from their 250-sheet tray, achieving speeds of 18 pages per minute (ppm) for black and 9 ppm for color, based on ISO testing. The auto duplex scanner delivers at 2400 dpi, managing paper sizes up to 8.5 x 14 inches with its 30-page auto document feeder. Copy speeds are equally impressive, reaching 11.5 copies per minute for black and 5.7 for color.

The EcoTank ET-3950 is priced at $419.99, while the enhanced ET-4950 is available for $499.99. Epson’s 502 series ink bottles, priced at $66.95 for a set, promise a nominal yield of up to 6,500 pages at roughly $0.01 per page, with even more affordable third-party options available.

These printers are crafted for those looking for cost-efficiency and sustainability without sacrificing performance, making them a smart choice for both home and office use.
