DuRoBo Krono E-Reader Expands Globally After Fresh Post-Launch Upgrades

DuRoBo Krono E-Ink Reader Expands to Amazon UK With New Software Updates

The DuRoBo Krono is becoming a more compelling option for readers who want an e-ink device that feels closer to a modern smartphone than a traditional e-reader. After debuting in April, the compact Android-powered reader has already received two important software updates and is now available to more buyers through Amazon UK.

The latest expansion means shoppers in the United Kingdom can now purchase the DuRoBo Krono for £249. The device is also available in the United States for $279.99 and can be purchased in black or white.

Since launch, DuRoBo has rolled out version 1.1 and version 1.2.1, bringing several useful improvements to the Krono experience. Version 1.1 introduced the Transfer app, making wireless file sharing easier for users who want to move books, documents, and other content onto the device without relying on cables. The same update also improved reading controls with more flexible font and layout options, added saved Spark summaries, and refreshed the bookshelf interface for a cleaner, more organized look.

Version 1.2.1 added one of the most practical upgrades so far: a native browser. While the Krono already runs Android 15 and supports full Google Play Store access, having a built-in browser gives users a faster and simpler way to browse the web without needing to download a separate app first.

Another notable addition is the Invert Scrolling option for the Smart Dial. This feature was added after user feedback, showing that DuRoBo is actively listening to early adopters and adjusting the device based on real-world use.

The DuRoBo Krono stands out with its 6.13-inch Carta 1200 ePaper display, offering a sharp 300 PPI reading experience. Inside, it features an octa-core processor, 6 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage, giving it far more flexibility than many basic e-readers. At 9 mm thick and 173 g, the device is slim and lightweight, making it feel more like a phone-sized reading companion than a conventional Kindle-style e-reader.

Its key features include the Smart Dial for quick navigation, Spark for capturing ideas, the Libby AI assistant, and built-in music support. These additions position the Krono as more than just an e-book reader. It is designed for users who want reading, note capture, web access, media playback, and app support in one portable e-ink device.

With Amazon UK availability and continued software improvements, the DuRoBo Krono is gaining momentum as a compact Android e-ink reader for people who want more freedom than a standard e-reader can offer. DuRoBo says more incremental updates are planned as the device continues to evolve.
