Bigme HiBreak Dual 3 preorders open with 85 FPS E Ink display, magnetic LCD, Android 16, and Dimensity 8300
Bigme has officially opened preorders for the HiBreak Dual 3, a dual-screen smartphone built around an unusual mix of E Ink and LCD technology. First teased in late August, the device now has confirmed pricing and an expected shipping window, with deliveries planned for early to mid-November.
The HiBreak Dual 3 stands out because it is not just another Android phone. Its main display is a 6.13-inch E Ink panel designed for comfortable reading, note-taking, and reduced eye strain, while a detachable 5-inch LCD screen can magnetically attach to the back when users want a more traditional smartphone experience. This makes the phone a rare option for people who want the battery-friendly and paper-like feel of E Ink without completely giving up a color LCD display.
Pricing starts at $569 for the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage model with a black-and-white E Ink display and no magnetic LCD module. Buyers who want the detachable LCD screen will pay $629. The color E Ink version costs an additional $20, bringing the 12 GB/256 GB model with both color E Ink and the LCD module to $649.
For users who need more storage and memory, the 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage version starts at $689. Fully equipped with the color E Ink panel and magnetic LCD, that model reaches $769. The store currently shows higher crossed-out prices, but these appear alongside the newly revealed preorder pricing.
The main E Ink display is rated for up to 85 FPS, which is unusually high for this type of screen. In black-and-white mode, it offers 300 PPI resolution, while color mode drops to 150 PPI. Stylus input is supported on the E Ink panel, making the HiBreak Dual 3 useful for handwriting, sketching, reading documents, and marking up notes.
The detachable rear screen is a 5-inch LCD with a 720 x 1280 resolution. It connects magnetically, allowing users to remove it when they only want the lighter and more efficient E Ink experience. This flexible design could appeal to readers, students, professionals, and anyone who wants fewer distractions from a standard smartphone display while still having an LCD option when needed.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset, the same processor used in Bigme’s previous HiBreak Dual 2. The phone ships with Android 16 and includes a TF card slot that supports expansion up to 2 TB, giving users plenty of room for ebooks, documents, apps, photos, and media.
Connectivity features include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.3. The HiBreak Dual 3 also packs a 4,450 mAh battery with up to 30 W charging. For cameras, Bigme has included a 50 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. Audio is handled by stereo speakers and dual microphones, while wired headphones can be connected through the USB-C port.
The phone measures 159.7 x 79.8 x 9.5 mm, though Bigme has not yet listed its weight. It is also unclear whether the stated thickness includes the detachable LCD module.
