Bigme B6 Pro launches globally with a 6-inch color E Ink display, Android 14, 4G, and stylus support
Bigme has expanded its compact e-reader lineup with the global launch of the Bigme B6 Pro, a lightweight color E Ink device designed for readers, note-takers, and users who want more flexibility than a traditional e-reader can offer.
The Bigme B6 Pro features a 6-inch color E Ink display with a resolution of 1,072 x 1,448 pixels. For black-and-white content, it reaches a sharp 300 PPI, while color content is displayed at 150 PPI. This makes it suitable for ebooks, comics, documents, web pages, notes, and other visual content that benefits from color.
One of the key highlights is its claimed refresh rate of up to 75 FPS. E Ink screens are usually known for slower refresh speeds, but Bigme has included four refresh modes to better match different activities, such as reading text, viewing images, browsing, or using apps. This should make the B6 Pro feel more responsive than many standard e-readers.
The screen also includes adjustable front lighting with 36 brightness levels. Users can fine-tune both warm and cool lighting, making it easier to read comfortably during the day or at night. The device comes in black and white color options, weighs around 176 grams, and is only 6.98 mm thick, making it compact enough for travel, commuting, or daily reading.
Inside, the Bigme B6 Pro is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 octa-core processor with clock speeds of up to 2.6 GHz. It is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, giving it significantly more power and space than many typical e-readers. The larger storage capacity is useful for users who keep extensive ebook libraries, PDF collections, comics, note files, and Android apps on one device.
Because the B6 Pro runs Android 14, it offers far more app flexibility than closed-platform e-readers. Users can install compatible reading apps, productivity tools, cloud services, messaging apps, and other software depending on their needs. This makes the device closer to a compact E Ink tablet than a basic ebook reader.
Connectivity is another major selling point. The Bigme B6 Pro supports 4G SIM cards, allowing mobile data access when Wi-Fi is not available. It also supports calling and SMS, which is unusual for an e-reader-style device. Other connectivity features include dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3.
For audio and communication, the device includes a speaker and two microphones. This could be useful for voice notes, calls, speech-to-text features, audiobooks, or other supported audio functions.
Stylus support is also included, making the B6 Pro suitable for handwritten notes, annotations, sketching, journaling, and document markup. Buyers can choose a bundle with a stylus if they want the full writing experience out of the box.
Compared with the Bigme B6 Black & White, the B6 Pro adds a color E Ink screen, more RAM, more storage, and cellular connectivity. The B6 Black & White uses a 6-inch monochrome E Ink display with 300 PPI, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Meanwhile, the earlier Bigme B6 Color is a more affordable model but uses an older MediaTek Helio P35 processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The B6 Pro is clearly positioned as the most capable model in the series.
The Bigme B6 Pro is now available internationally through Bigme’s official store. At the time of launch, the Device + Case bundle is priced at $289, reduced from $329. The Device + Case + Stylus bundle is priced at $305, down from $349.
In China, pre-sales for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version are scheduled to begin on September 1. The pre-sale price is CNY 2,099, with final payments starting on September 22.
With its color E Ink display, Android 14 software, 4G support, stylus compatibility, and powerful hardware for its category, the Bigme B6 Pro stands out as a compact option for users who want an e-reader that can also handle productivity, note-taking, and connected apps.
