Lenovo thinkplus A510 launches as a color E-Ink Android notebook for work, reading, and smart note-taking
Lenovo has introduced the thinkplus AI Smart E-ink Screen Office Notebook A510 Flagship Edition in China, a new productivity-focused E-Ink tablet designed for professionals, students, and readers who want a paper-like display with modern Android features.
The Lenovo thinkplus A510 combines a 10.3-inch color E-Ink screen, stylus support, 4G connectivity, cameras, and AI-enhanced meeting tools in a slim digital notebook format. Unlike typical tablets with bright LCD or OLED panels, this device is built around an eye-friendly E-Ink display that is better suited for long reading sessions, handwritten notes, document review, and office work.
The main highlight is its 10.3-inch Kaleido 3 color E-Ink display. It offers a resolution of 2,480 × 1,860 pixels for black-and-white content and 1,240 × 930 pixels when showing color. The screen reaches 300 dpi in monochrome mode and 150 dpi in color mode, making it suitable for crisp text, ebooks, documents, diagrams, and lightly colored content.
Lenovo has also added an adjustable front light with both warm and cool tones. This should make the A510 easier to use in different environments, whether you are reading in a dim room, working late at night, or reviewing documents in brighter conditions.
For note-taking, the thinkplus A510 supports a pressure-sensitive stylus with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. This allows users to write, sketch, annotate PDFs, and mark up documents with a more natural pen-on-paper feel. The matching thinkplus stylus attaches magnetically to the device and charges while connected, reducing the risk of losing power when it is needed.
The device runs Android 14, which gives it more flexibility than a basic e-reader. Users can access apps, manage files, read multiple document formats, and use split-screen mode to run two apps at the same time. That feature could be useful for comparing notes with a document, reading while writing, or referencing material during meetings.
Powering the Lenovo thinkplus A510 is a MediaTek MT6877T octa-core processor with speeds of up to 2.6 GHz. Buyers can choose between 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM, while internal storage is set at 256 GB. For users with large libraries of ebooks, office files, scanned documents, and presentations, storage can be expanded with a TF card by up to 2 TB.
Lenovo has equipped the A510 with two cameras. A 5 MP front-facing camera is included for video calls, while a 20 MP rear camera with autofocus can be used for scanning documents, handwritten notes, and other paper materials. This makes the device more useful in office and education settings, where converting physical documents into digital files is often needed.
Connectivity is another strong point. The thinkplus A510 supports 4G through a SIM card, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. There is also a USB Type-C port for charging and wired accessories, including Type-C headphones. With 4G support, the device can stay connected away from Wi-Fi, making it more practical for business travel, commuting, and remote work.
Lenovo is also positioning the A510 as a meeting-friendly device. It includes eight microphones designed to improve voice pickup and reduce background noise. The company says the notebook supports 360-degree voice pickup and AI-powered noise reduction, which could help during online meetings, voice notes, interviews, and conference calls.
Battery life is another important feature for an E-Ink notebook, and Lenovo has included a 6,900 mAh battery with 15 W charging. According to Lenovo, the device can deliver up to 14 hours of reading time and up to 168 hours of standby time on a full charge. Since E-Ink screens use less power than traditional tablet displays, the A510 should be well suited for long reading and writing sessions.
The Lenovo thinkplus A510 supports many common file formats, including PDF, EPUB, TXT, MOBI, AZW3, JPEG, PNG, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, and PPTX. This wide format support makes it useful for ebooks, office documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images, and academic materials.
In China, the Lenovo thinkplus A510 is listed at 5,499 yuan, which is approximately $815. However, it is currently being offered at an introductory price of 4,999 yuan, or around $740. Lenovo has not yet confirmed whether the thinkplus A510 will be released in other markets.
With its color E-Ink display, Android 14 software, stylus input, 4G support, expandable storage, document scanning camera, and AI meeting features, the Lenovo thinkplus A510 is aimed at users who want more than a standard e-reader but prefer a more eye-friendly experience than a conventional tablet.
