DJI has launched the Mic 3 globally, delivering a creator-focused upgrade that blends the best of the Mic 2 and Mic Mini into a smarter, more capable wireless microphone system. It’s slightly heavier than the Mic Mini by 6 g yet 12 g lighter than the Mic 2 with its magnetic attachment, striking a balance between portability and pro-grade performance.
The headline feature is robust onboard recording. The Mic 3 supports 24-bit and 32-bit float dual file audio and stores it directly to 32 GB of built-in memory—four times more than the previous generation—giving creators a safety net against clipping and lost takes. Automatic Adaptive Gain Control and Noise Cancelling help deliver clean audio in dynamic or noisy environments without constant manual tweaking.
Battery life is designed for all-day shoots. DJI rates the system for up to 28 hours in total, with up to 8 hours for each transmitter and up to 10 hours for the receiver between charges. Timecode support streamlines multi-camera and post-production workflows, while three voice tone presets let you fine-tune sound character on the fly.
For multi-talent or multi-cam setups, the Mic 3 adds compatibility for up to four transmitters and eight receivers. The receiver retains the 1.1-inch touchscreen and control dial introduced previously, keeping monitoring and adjustments quick and intuitive.
