A recent leak has given us an exciting glimpse into the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro combo kit, showcasing a comprehensive set of accessories designed to amplify your filming experience. The image, originating from @Quadro_News on Twitter/X, reveals not just the camera, but also three batteries, a versatile charging hub, a protective frame, mounting brackets, an extension rod, and a USB-C cable.
The inclusion of three batteries clearly hints at DJI’s commitment to prolonged shooting sessions. The innovative charging hub is expected to charge all three batteries concurrently, ensuring you are always prepared for the next take. Additionally, the protective frame and mounting systems offer added security and flexibility, while the extension rod promises creative shooting angles.
Adding to the hardware excitement, another leak unveils an impressive super slow-motion feature for the Osmo Action 5 Pro. With support for up to 960fps slow-motion via 4x frame interpolation, this feature can generate up to six slow-motion clips per video in resolutions of 4K, 2.7K, and 1080p, provided the footage is shot at a minimum of 100fps. However, the feature does have its limitations: the initial and terminal few seconds of clips are not eligible for slow-motion editing.
The camera itself retains a design familiar to its predecessor, the Osmo Action 4, which currently retails at $269 on Amazon for the standard combo. It sports a front-facing screen and lens setup that suggests minimal external modifications. While the complete technical specifications are still under wraps, earlier leaks suggest a robust 1/1.3-inch sensor with a 155° field of view and the ability to record in stunning 4K/120FPS. Features like precision tracking, 360° HorizonSteady, and DJI Mic 2 integration are also anticipated to be part of the Action 5 Pro package.
As for pricing, the combo kit is rumored to be priced around €479 (approximately $531), which aligns with earlier predictions. An official announcement is expected around September 12, positioning the Action 5 Pro to go head-to-head with competitors like the GoPro Hero 13 Black and the forthcoming Insta360 Ace Pro 2, the latter of which was teased to feature a dual AI chip and a Leica lens.
Stay tuned for more updates as the official launch date approaches. This new iteration from DJI promises to bring some thrilling enhancements to your action camera experience.
