Dell is expanding its Alienware series with two exciting new additions to the Aurora gaming laptop family, featuring the much-anticipated GeForce RTX 5060 GPU. This lineup aims to cater to gamers with varying preferences and budgets by integrating this powerful GPU alongside Intel’s latest CPUs.
Introducing the Alienware 16 and the Alienware 16X Aurora gaming laptops, both equipped with the GeForce RTX 5060 mobile GPU packed with 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM. These laptops will offer impressive gaming experiences balanced with Intel’s CPUs, designed to meet diverse user needs.
The Alienware 16X is the powerhouse of the pair, utilizing the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, a robust 24-core processor from the new Arrow Lake-HX series. This makes it an excellent choice for users requiring exceptional performance and productivity capabilities. Meanwhile, the more budget-friendly Alienware 16 runs on the Intel Core 9 270H, a potent 14-core chip from the Raptor Lake-H refresh lineup.
For those looking for alternative options, both models provide flexibility in GPU selection, supporting configurations up to the RTX 5070. For budget-conscious gamers, an option featuring the RTX 4050 combined with the Core 7 240H is available starting at $1,149.
The Alienware 16 retails at $1,599, offering 16 GB of DDR5 memory and a spacious 1 TB SSD. In contrast, the Alienware 16X ups the ante with double the RAM and storage, priced at $1,949. Both models share similar aesthetics, except for the 16X’s eye-catching RGB-backlit keyboard.
When it comes to connectivity, the Alienware 16X stands out with advanced features like a Thunderbolt 4 (40 Gbps) port with DP 2.1 support. The Alienware 16, though more affordable, still offers valuable USB Type-C 10 Gbps ports. Additionally, the 16X delivers superior camera quality, capable of recording in 1080p, compared to the 720p capability of the Alienware 16.
Despite similarities in wireless features, such as Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7, currently, both laptops face a “Sold Out” status, though this is expected to change once the launch embargo lifts on May 19th.
These cutting-edge laptops are set to capture the attention of gamers, offering them an engaging blend of design, performance, and value.
