Decathlon BTWIN LD 920 E City Bike Expands Its Reach

The e-bike market is seeing an exciting expansion as the Decathlon BTWIN LD 920 E city bike, also known as the E-LD 920, begins to make its way to more countries.

At the heart of the bike’s design is a robust 250W mid-drive OWURU motor that delivers a peak power of 600W and torque up to 65 Nm. This motor powers the bike through three different levels of assistance, with an option for riders to cycle without any electrical help.

The e-bike’s 702Wh Economy battery is noteworthy for its longevity, boasting a range of up to 150 km (approximately 93 miles) when used in Economy mode. Charging is efficient, with a full recharge possible in less than five hours, and the battery is expected to maintain full capacity for at least 500 charge cycles.

Riders’ comfort gets a boost from the inclusion of a Headshock suspension fork with 30 mm travel, while Tektro Hydraulic disc brakes are in place for assured, short stopping distances.

Functionality meets convenience with the bike’s integrated color display, which provides essential information such as the selected mode and remaining battery range. Additionally, a handy USB-C port is available to keep your smartphone charged on the go.

To enhance security and peace of mind for owners, the LD 920 E comes with 4G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing for GPS tracking of the bike’s location. This service is complimentary for the first year, followed by a subscription cost of approximately €2 (~£1.7) per month.

The bike also comes with practical features such as integrated lighting, mudguards, a kickstand, a pannier rack, and a Ring Lock 920 ART2. It boasts a durable 6061 aluminum frame, available in a high or low format and in four different sizes, with the medium-sized model weighing in at 59.5 lbs (around 27.0 kg).

Those in the UK can purchase the BTWIN LD 920 E in both High Frame and Low Frame configurations for £3,199. Details about the bike’s availability and pricing in the US are yet to be announced, but cycling enthusiasts are keeping a close watch for this impressive mode of urban transportation.
