Minisforum has just unveiled its latest flagship Workstation Mini PC, the MS-A2, which showcases the power of AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-Core CPU. This compact powerhouse is designed for users who demand high-performance multi-threading in a sleek form factor.

Introducing the Minisforum MS-A2 Mini PC, now available for purchase, equipped with AMD’s top-tier Ryzen CPUs. While the original model featured the Ryzen 9 7945HX, the latest iteration boasts the more advanced Ryzen 9 9955HX. Both CPUs offer 16 cores, with the 9955HX utilizing cutting-edge Zen 5 cores, clock speeds soaring up to 5.4 GHz, and an impressive 64 MB L3 cache. It offers a configurable TDP between 55-75W, catering to diverse computing needs.

Although the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D variant excels in gaming, Minisforum has chosen the Non-X3D version for the MS-A2, ensuring optimal performance for workstation tasks. The system supports up to 96 GB DDR5-5600 memory across two SO-DIMM slots and offers a U.2 NVMe slot with support for up to 15 TB storage. Additional expansion is offered through two PCIe 4.0×4 slots and a PCIe 3.0×4 slot.

Connectivity options are robust, with a 3.5mm audio jack and two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports on the front. The rear features a USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, dual 2.5GbE and 10GbE Ethernet ports, along with additional USB ports, and advanced Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 capabilities.

The MS-A2 Mini Workstation PC includes a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot (running in x8 mode), offering versatility for either a dedicated GPU within the chassis or an external solution for enhanced performance. Efficient cooling is ensured with a large blower fan directing airflow through the central heatsink and out through top exhaust vents. Measuring just 196x189x48mm, this compact unit is powered by a 19V/12.63A interface.

The barebone version of the MS-A2 with the Ryzen 9 9955HX is priced at $871. For those seeking more robust configurations, the base model with 64 GB memory and a 1 TB SSD is $1135, while the option with 96 GB memory and a 2 TB SSD is available at $1295. Shipments are expected to begin on August 10th.
