CMF by Nothing has introduced a new pair of budget-friendly wireless earbuds in India, and they come with a surprisingly strong feature set for the price. The new CMF Buds Neo arrive shortly after the brand’s first clip-on earbuds, giving buyers another affordable option in the growing true wireless earbuds market.
The CMF Buds Neo are the brand’s most affordable earbuds so far, but they still include several features usually found on higher-priced models. These include active noise cancellation, spatial audio, low-latency mode, dual-device connectivity, and a long battery life rating.
The earbuds use an in-ear design with angled tips and a protruding stem. They come with silicone ear tips to help create a tighter seal, which should improve both sound quality and noise isolation. Inside each earbud is a 12.4mm dynamic driver, while two microphones on each side help with calls and noise control.
One of the biggest highlights is active noise cancellation of up to 35dB. This should help reduce background noise while commuting, working, or listening in busy outdoor spaces. There is also a transparency mode, allowing users to hear their surroundings without removing the earbuds.
CMF has also included Clear Voice Technology, which is designed to make calls sound clearer, especially in outdoor environments. For users who frequently take calls on the move, this could be one of the more useful features of the Buds Neo.
Battery life is another strong point. CMF claims the earbuds can last up to 11 hours on a single charge, with the charging case extending total playback time to up to 52 hours. As expected, battery life will be lower when active noise cancellation is enabled. Fast charging is supported as well, with a 10-minute charge offering up to 5.5 hours of playback.
The CMF Buds Neo work with the Nothing X app, giving users more control over their listening experience. Through the app, users can switch between noise cancellation modes, enable spatial audio, and activate low-latency mode for gaming or video playback. Low latency is especially useful for reducing audio delay while watching videos or playing mobile games.
The earbuds also come with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. This means they should be able to handle sweat, light rain, and everyday splashes, making them suitable for workouts and daily commuting.
Design remains an important part of CMF’s identity, and the Buds Neo continue that approach. The earbuds are available in Black, Dark Blue, and White, each with a matching dual-tone charging case. The case includes a dial-style design element, but unlike some earlier CMF models, the dial does not control any earbud functions. Instead, it serves more as a playful fidget spinner feature.
The CMF Buds Neo are priced at INR 1,999, which is roughly $21 or €19. At this price, they are positioned as an attractive option for buyers looking for affordable wireless earbuds with ANC, long battery life, and app-based customization.
For now, the CMF Buds Neo appear to be limited to the Indian market. Sales are scheduled to begin on Flipkart from August 26. Buyers in Bengaluru will also get an early access opportunity at the Nothing Store on August 22 at 11 AM.
With active noise cancellation, spatial audio, dual-device pairing, fast charging, and a distinctive case design, the CMF Buds Neo could become a strong contender in India’s budget true wireless earbuds segment. For users who want feature-packed earbuds without spending much, CMF’s latest launch looks like one to watch.
