Tomb Raider: Anniversary is currently available for just $1.99 on the PlayStation Store for PS4 and PS5, making it a major bargain for fans of Lara Croft’s classic adventures. The game normally costs $19.99, so this limited-time deal brings the price down by 90% on the US PlayStation Store.
The discount runs until November 5, giving players a short window to pick up Crystal Dynamics’ 2007 remake of the original Tomb Raider at its lowest price yet on modern PlayStation consoles. Since arriving on PS4 and PS5 on November 18, 2025, Tomb Raider: Anniversary has not been cheaper.
PlayStation Plus Premium members may not need to buy it separately, as the game is already included in the service’s classics catalog. However, for players who prefer to own their games outright, the $1.99 sale price is hard to ignore.
This PS4 and PS5 version is based on the original PlayStation 2 release and runs through emulation. According to its PlayStation Store listing, the game supports offline play. Premium subscribers can also access cloud streaming on PS5 and PlayStation Portal.
Player reception has been strong on the US PlayStation Store. Tomb Raider: Anniversary currently holds an average rating of 4.56 out of 5 from more than 2,300 user ratings, with 81% of players giving it a full five-star score.
Originally released in June 2007 for PlayStation 2 and Windows PC, Tomb Raider: Anniversary was developed by Crystal Dynamics and Buzz Monkey Software, with Eidos Interactive publishing the game. Versions for PSP, Xbox 360, and Wii arrived later in 2007, followed by an OS X release in 2008. The game also came to PlayStation 3 in 2011 as part of The Tomb Raider Trilogy collection.
Tomb Raider: Anniversary reimagines the 1996 original that introduced Lara Croft to the gaming world. Built using an enhanced version of the engine from Tomb Raider: Legend, the remake revisits Lara’s search for the mysterious Scion artifact while adding redesigned levels, improved physics, updated controls, and a more polished narrative.
The game is also an important part of Crystal Dynamics’ Legend trilogy. Although it was released after Tomb Raider: Legend, Anniversary takes place first in the trilogy’s timeline, serving as a prequel to the 2006 entry.
Players interested in the full trilogy can also grab Tomb Raider: Legend at a discount. That game, which came to PS4 and PS5 in June 2024, is currently 80% off on the PlayStation Store, bringing its price down to $3.99 until November 5. Tomb Raider: Underworld, the 2008 sequel that concluded the trilogy, is not currently available on the PS4 and PS5 store.
The timing of this sale is especially interesting as the franchise prepares for another return to Lara Croft’s earliest adventure. A new reimagining of the 1996 classic, titled Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, is in development using Unreal Engine 5. The project is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog and is currently scheduled to launch on February 12, 2027, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, following a delay from its original 2026 release window.
For longtime fans, Tomb Raider: Anniversary remains one of the most beloved modern takes on Lara Croft’s first journey. For newcomers, the $1.99 PlayStation Store deal offers an inexpensive way to experience a key chapter in one of gaming’s most iconic action-adventure franchises.
