Citizen Zenshin Three-Hand AW0132-55P Arrives in the US With Hardened Amber Yellow Super Titanium
Citizen has expanded its US lineup with the Zenshin Three-hand AW0132-55P, a striking Eco-Drive watch that brings a warm amber-gold look without relying on traditional gold plating. Priced at $695 in the United States, the new model gives American buyers easier access to one of Citizen’s most distinctive Super Titanium designs.
The biggest attraction is its Duratect Amber Yellow finish. At first glance, the watch has the glow of a gold-tone sports watch, but Citizen is using a much tougher surface treatment instead of conventional plating. The finish is made from a nickel-free niobium-titanium alloy and is hardened to a Vickers rating between 1,700 and 2,300. According to Citizen, that makes it around ten to twenty times tougher than typical gold plating.
That durability matters because gold-tone watches can often show wear over time, especially on the bracelet and case edges. The AW0132-55P is designed to better resist scratches while keeping its warm metallic appearance. It is also hypoallergenic, making it a more comfortable option for wearers sensitive to nickel.
Citizen introduced Duratect Amber Yellow in 2025 as part of its Super Titanium collection, marking 55 years since the brand launched its first titanium watch. The color is not a loud, mirror-like gold. Instead, it has a softer amber tone that feels warmer and more refined. Citizen applies the finish across the case, integrated bracelet, and textured yellow dial, creating a unified look from every angle.
The Zenshin Three-hand AW0132-55P uses a compact and wearable case size. Citizen lists the case at 39 mm, while other specifications place it at 39.5 mm. Either way, it sits in a versatile range that should suit many wrist sizes. The watch is 10 mm thick, giving it a relatively slim profile for an everyday integrated-bracelet design.
The case is made from Citizen’s Super Titanium, a material known for being significantly lighter than stainless steel while offering much higher surface hardness. Citizen states that Super Titanium is about 40% lighter than steel and roughly five times harder at the surface. For daily wear, that means the watch should feel easier on the wrist while being more resistant to scuffs and scratches.
The AW0132-55P also includes a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, helping improve visibility and scratch resistance. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters, making it suitable for daily use, swimming, showering, and snorkeling. It is not intended as a professional dive watch, but the rating is more than enough for most casual wearers.
Inside the watch is Citizen’s J800 Eco-Drive movement. Eco-Drive technology is one of Citizen’s most practical features because it charges using light from natural or artificial sources. There is no need for regular battery changes, which adds convenience and reduces long-term maintenance. When fully charged, the movement can run for around eight months.
The dial layout keeps things simple and functional. The watch features three central hands along with a combined day-date window at the 3 o’clock position. This gives it a practical daily-wear character while maintaining a clean, uncluttered appearance. The textured yellow dial adds depth and helps the watch stand out from more ordinary gold-tone designs.
The integrated Super Titanium bracelet continues the same Amber Yellow finish as the case and closes with a fold-over clasp equipped with push buttons. This gives the watch a secure fit while preserving the sleek, streamlined profile that defines the Zenshin line.
