The new Citizen Series 8 GMT NB6092-01E is limited to just 1,300 pieces and stands out with an unusual combination of Damascus steel, a gold-tone IP finish, a forged carbon dial, and a true automatic GMT movement.
The biggest talking point is the case construction. Citizen uses Damascus steel for the central body of the watch case, a material best known for its distinctive flowing patterns and long association with traditional blades and metal craftsmanship. Because Damascus steel is created through layered metalwork, no two cases will have exactly the same pattern. That means each Series 8 NB6092-01E has its own unique visual character across the case sides and lugs.
Citizen then applies a gold IP finish over the Damascus steel, giving the watch a warm, premium look while still allowing the patterned texture to remain the main attraction. It is an eye-catching choice for the Series 8 range, especially for collectors who appreciate limited-edition watches with individual details.
The dial continues the bold material theme. Citizen has fitted the watch with an anthracite forged carbon dial, adding a dark, textured surface that contrasts nicely with the gold-toned hands and hour markers. Powering the watch is Citizen’s 9054 automatic GMT movement. This is a true GMT movement, meaning the local hour hand can be adjusted independently while the 24-hour hand remains fixed. That makes it especially convenient when changing time zones, since the wearer can quickly update local time without disturbing the reference time.
The 9054 movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, uses 24 jewels, and offers a power reserve of approximately 50 hours. It also supports hacking seconds and manual winding. Citizen rates the movement’s accuracy at -10 to +20 seconds per day.
The watch is completed with a black leather strap featuring contrast stitching, giving it a slightly dressier feel while still matching the modern sports-watch design language of the Series 8 collection.
Official global availability details have not yet been fully announced by Citizen, but retailer listings have already appeared in some markets. Pricing has been seen at around €1,499 in Europe, roughly equivalent to $1,700, while another listing places it at 51,419 THB.
