Citizen Unveils Four Limited-Edition Series 8 Automatics with Striking Geometric Dials

Citizen Expands Series 8 With Four Striking Limited-Edition Automatic Watches

Citizen is bringing fresh energy to its Series 8 collection with four new limited-edition Series 8 831 automatic watches. The upcoming models were recently previewed by Citizen US with the message “arriving soon,” giving watch fans an early look at a colorful new lineup built around the brand’s bold octagonal case design.

While Citizen has not yet confirmed the official release date, pricing, production numbers, or full specifications, the preview images reveal a collection that appears to closely follow the design language of the Series 8 831 Limited Edition NB6051-59L released in March 2025.

The new Citizen Series 8 831 Limited Edition watches stand out with sharp, angular cases, brushed octagonal bezels, and detailed geometric dials. The faceted dial pattern gives each model a crystalline effect, catching light from different angles and adding depth to the overall look. Baton hour markers, clean hour and minute hands, a framed date window at 3 o’clock, and sculpted crown guards complete the modern sports-watch aesthetic.

The four new versions each bring a different personality to the Series 8 lineup.

The NB6050-01L is the most subtle of the group, featuring a textured navy blue dial paired with a matching textured leather strap. Its silver-tone stainless steel case and bezel give it a refined, versatile appearance that should work well for both casual and dressier settings.

The NB6059-06W takes a warmer approach with a brown textured dial and matching leather strap. A light brown bezel adds a softer, more distinctive tone to the stainless steel case, creating a watch that feels elegant without being overly formal.

The NB6050-19W introduces a richer and more dramatic style. Its red wine dial is matched with a coordinating leather strap, while the silver-tone case and bezel provide contrast against the deep dial color. This version is likely to appeal to collectors who want something more expressive but still wearable.

The NB6052-56W appears to be the dressiest model in the new range. It features a burnt-orange dial with subtle brown undertones, a gold-tone case and bezel, and an integrated H-link bracelet. Among the four, this version has the most premium and eye-catching presentation.

Citizen has not officially announced the movement powering these new Series 8 831 watches. However, since the models appear to share the same platform as the earlier ice-blue limited edition, they are expected to offer similar specifications.

That could mean a 40mm case size, an 11.6mm thickness, sapphire crystal, 100 meters of water resistance, and an exhibition caseback. The watches may also use Citizen’s Caliber 9051 automatic movement, which offers a 42-hour power reserve and is known as a reliable everyday mechanical movement.

Pricing remains unknown for now. As a reference point, the previous Series 8 831 ice-blue limited edition launched at $1,300 and was limited to 1,800 pieces worldwide. If these new colorful models follow a similar strategy, they could attract strong interest from collectors looking for a distinctive limited-edition Citizen automatic watch.

With their geometric dials, octagonal cases, and varied color options, the new Citizen Series 8 831 Limited Edition watches add more personality to one of the brand’s most modern mechanical watch lines. For fans of Japanese automatic watches, integrated-style sports designs, and limited-production releases, this upcoming collection is one to watch closely.
