Citizen Unveils a Sleek Stainless-Steel Automatic With a Minimalist Black Dial

Citizen NJ0210-56E arrives in the UK with a black dial, steel bracelet, and automatic movement

Citizen has expanded its NJ0210 automatic watch lineup in the UK with a new stainless steel model that pairs a clean black dial with a matching metal bracelet. The new Citizen NJ0210-56E is now listed at £299, bringing a more classic, everyday-wear option to the series.

The NJ0210 range was first introduced with several dial and strap combinations, including leather-strap versions and bracelet models in lighter or more colorful finishes. This latest release adds a black dial and stainless steel bracelet combination, giving the watch a more versatile look that should appeal to buyers who want a simple automatic watch for daily use, office wear, or casual outfits.

The Citizen NJ0210-56E uses a 40 mm stainless steel case that measures a little over 13 mm thick. Its design is straightforward but polished, with stepped lugs and a mix of brushed and polished surfaces that help give the watch a more refined appearance. The case size should suit a wide range of wrist sizes, offering enough presence without feeling oversized.

On the front, the watch uses a mineral crystal. Around the back, Citizen includes a display case back, allowing owners to view the automatic movement inside. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters, making it suitable for everyday splashes and light exposure to water, though it is not intended as a serious diving watch.

The stainless steel bracelet continues the practical theme. It is fitted with a fold-over clasp and push-button release, offering a secure fit while keeping the watch easy to put on and remove.

The dial is one of the main attractions of this model. Citizen has kept the layout minimal and easy to read, using a black background with applied Arabic numerals. A printed minute track runs around the edge, while a date window sits at the 3 o’clock position. The silver-toned polished hands contrast clearly against the dark dial, helping improve legibility while keeping the overall design understated.

Inside the NJ0210-56E is Citizen’s caliber 8210 automatic movement. This is one of the brand’s entry-level mechanical movements and offers a 40-hour power reserve. It runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour and supports hand-winding, which is useful if the watch has stopped after being left unworn.

However, the movement does not offer hacking seconds, meaning the seconds hand continues moving while the time is being set. Citizen rates the accuracy at -20 to +40 seconds per day, which is typical for an affordable automatic watch in this price range.

The UK price of £299 is notable when compared with earlier NJ0210 bracelet models in Europe, which launched at €249. After removing tax from both prices, the UK listing works out significantly higher than the European launch pricing for similar models. Even so, the NJ0210-56E may still attract buyers looking for a full stainless steel Citizen automatic with a black dial and a clean, timeless design.

With its 40 mm case, automatic movement, display case back, and understated styling, the Citizen NJ0210-56E looks positioned as an accessible mechanical watch for those who want something more traditional than a quartz model without moving into luxury pricing. It is now available to order through Citizen’s UK store with free delivery.
