Chuwi GTBook X arrives as a budget gaming laptop with Intel Core 7 power and RTX 3050 graphics
Chuwi has introduced the GTBook X Laptop GamingBook, a new gaming-focused notebook aimed at buyers who want a capable machine without stepping into premium laptop pricing. The system combines a modern Intel Core 7 230H processor with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop graphics, a 144 Hz display, upgradeable DDR5 memory, and dual M.2 SSD support.
The GTBook X is built around Intel’s Core 7 230H, a Raptor Lake-based chip featuring six performance cores, four efficiency cores, and 16 threads. With boost speeds of up to 5.2 GHz and 24 MB of Intel Smart Cache, the processor should offer solid performance for everyday multitasking, productivity, and many modern games.
For graphics, Chuwi has chosen the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU with 4 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. While the RTX 3050 is no longer a cutting-edge mobile GPU, it still supports ray tracing and DLSS, making it suitable for 1080p gaming in less demanding titles or esports games. However, it does miss out on newer Nvidia features such as Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation, which are becoming increasingly important for improving frame rates on entry-level gaming laptops.
Chuwi has configured the RTX 3050 with an 80 W TGP, while Dynamic Boost can raise GPU power to as much as 95 W when thermal and power conditions allow. The company also claims up to 140 W of combined dynamic CPU and GPU power, suggesting the laptop is tuned to deliver stronger performance than lower-wattage RTX 3050 machines.

Memory and storage options are also a highlight. The laptop ships with 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512 GB PCIe SSD. Chuwi includes two SO-DIMM slots, allowing users to expand memory up to 64 GB. Storage can also be upgraded thanks to two M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 slots, with support for up to 2 TB. This makes the GTBook X more flexible than many budget gaming laptops that limit upgrade options.
To manage heat, the GTBook X uses a dual-fan cooling system with five heat pipes. Good cooling is especially important in gaming laptops, as sustained performance depends heavily on how well the system can control CPU and GPU temperatures during longer gaming sessions.
Connectivity is generous for a laptop in this category. The GTBook X includes HDMI 2.1, Mini DisplayPort, USB-C 3.2, three USB-A ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and an SD card reader. Wireless features include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. Chuwi also includes an RGB-backlit keyboard and Windows 11 Pro out of the box.
The Chuwi GTBook X Laptop GamingBook is currently listed in the United States at $999. That price may feel high considering the older RTX 3050 GPU, especially when newer graphics options are becoming more common. Still, the laptop offers a strong processor, a high-refresh 1080p display, upgradeable DDR5 memory, dual SSD slots, and a wide selection of ports, which could make it appealing to budget-conscious gamers looking for a flexible all-round machine.
Overall, the Chuwi GTBook X is an interesting addition to the budget gaming laptop market. It may not be the most future-proof option because of its older GPU, but for 1080p gaming, schoolwork, content consumption, and everyday productivity, it delivers a practical mix of features for users who want a gaming laptop without paying flagship prices.
