Casio CRW-002 Ring Watch Reportedly Coming Soon With Retro A168 Styling
Casio appears to be preparing another tiny timekeeping experiment, and this one could be especially appealing to fans of classic digital watches. The rumored Casio CRW-002 is expected to be the brand’s next-generation ring watch, this time taking design inspiration from the iconic Casio A168 rather than a G-Shock-style case.
The CRW-002 is reportedly planned for a November launch and could arrive in two versions. The CRW-002D-1A is expected to feature a stainless steel finish, while the CRW-002G-9A may come with a gold IP coating for a more eye-catching retro look. Both models are said to mirror the familiar shape and dial layout of the A168, one of Casio’s most recognizable digital watches.
What makes the design especially interesting is the textured surface. The upcoming ring watch reportedly recreates the look of the A168’s metal bracelet across the tiny ring-shaped body. That detail could give the CRW-002 a more premium and nostalgic feel, turning it into both a functional digital watch and a wearable novelty piece.
To achieve this small and detailed construction, Casio is said to be using metal injection molding. This manufacturing method combines fine steel powder with a binding material before injecting it into a mold. The result reportedly allows the ring body and case back to be formed as one piece, while also preserving the bracelet-style texture across the surface.
Sizing is expected to follow the same approach as Casio’s earlier ring watch models. The CRW-002 reportedly has a 20 mm inner diameter, with silicone inserts included to reduce the fit to 19 mm or 18 mm. Its circumference is expected to be around 63 mm, while the overall dimensions may be close to 25.2 × 19.5 × 6.2 mm.
Despite its tiny size, the Casio CRW-002 is expected to include a surprisingly useful set of digital watch features. These may include dual time, a 60-minute stopwatch, an LED backlight, an auto calendar, 12-hour and 24-hour time formats, and a Time Flash function that blinks the light on the hour or at a preset time.
Accuracy is reportedly rated at ±30 seconds per month, while battery life is expected to last around two years. The new ring watch may also offer 30 meters of water resistance, which would be a notable detail for such a compact accessory.
The rumored price is around $130, placing it close to Casio’s previous ring watch pricing. If accurate, the CRW-002 could become a fun collector’s item for Casio fans, retro watch enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a digital watch that stands out from traditional wristwear.
