Casio G-Shock GBA-950-1A arrives in the UK with fitness tracking, rugged style, and 200m water resistance
Casio has added another sporty model to its G-Shock G-Squad lineup in the UK with the official listing of the G-Shock GBA-950-1A. Built for runners, gym-goers, and everyday users who want a tough fitness-focused watch, the new model brings step tracking, smartphone connectivity, and classic G-Shock durability in a sleek black design.
The GBA-950-1A joins the previously introduced GBA-950-7A, which features a white case with a blue dial, and the GBA-950-9A, which comes in a yellow-green finish with a dark dial. The GBA-950 series was first introduced in 2025 as an evolution of the earlier GBA-900 range, giving users a lighter and slimmer option while keeping the practical training tools that made the lineup popular.
In terms of size, the Casio G-Shock GBA-950-1A measures 48.5 x 43.9 x 16 mm and weighs approximately 53 grams. That makes it slightly thinner and lighter than the GBA-900, which measures 16.6 mm thick and weighs around 61 grams. The result is a more comfortable fit for workouts, daily wear, and long running sessions.
The watch uses a digital-analog display layout, combining two analog hands with a digital screen for quick access to time, workout data, and daily functions. Its black dial is matched with Neobrite hour markers, improving visibility in darker environments. An LED backlight is also included, making it easier to read the display at night or during early morning runs.
One of the main highlights of the G-Shock GBA-950-1A is its smartphone connectivity. When paired with the Casio mobile app, the watch can access features such as automatic time adjustment and GPS-assisted distance tracking. This allows users to record more accurate running and walking data by using their phone’s GPS. Training logs can also be viewed through the companion app, and workout data can be shared with Strava for those who like to track progress across fitness platforms.
As expected from a G-Shock watch, durability is a major part of the design. The GBA-950-1A features a shock-resistant resin case, giving it protection against knocks, drops, and everyday impact. It also comes with a bio-based resin band, adding a more environmentally conscious material choice without sacrificing toughness.
For fitness and daily use, the watch includes a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, dual time, and five daily alarms. These features make it useful not only for running and training but also for travel, work schedules, and routine time management.
The GBA-950-1A is powered by a CR2025 battery, which Casio says can last for around two years. That gives it a clear advantage over many rechargeable smartwatches, especially for users who prefer a low-maintenance fitness watch that does not need frequent charging.
Water resistance is another strong point. The Casio G-Shock GBA-950-1A is rated for 200 meters, or 20 bar, making it suitable for swimming, wet weather, and light water sports. Combined with its shock-resistant build, this makes it a practical choice for active users who need a watch that can handle demanding conditions.
The Casio G-Shock GBA-950-1A is listed in the UK with a price of £130. While it is not yet available for immediate purchase, interested buyers can register through Casio’s official UK website to receive a notification when the watch goes on sale.
With its rugged construction, step tracking, smartphone-linked fitness features, long battery life, and slimmer design, the Casio G-Shock GBA-950-1A looks like a strong option for anyone searching for a durable sports watch that blends classic G-Shock toughness with useful modern training tools.
