Casio Mudman GDG-B100 Arrives in the UK With MIP Display, Red Backlight, and Fitness Tracking
Casio’s latest Mudman watch, the GDG-B100, has appeared on the brand’s UK online store, giving fans a clearer look at pricing, colors, and features ahead of its release. The new model is notable because it is the first Mudman to use a memory-in-pixel display, a screen type known for strong visibility and low power consumption.
Three versions of the Casio Mudman GDG-B100 are listed in the UK: the black GDG-B100-1, the dark green GDG-B100-1A3, and the sand-colored GDG-B100-1A5. Each model is priced at £200, which is roughly $265. The watches are not available to purchase yet, with Casio currently offering an “Available soon” sign-up option instead of direct ordering.
The UK listings also carry a “New 10/2026” release tag, suggesting the launch is scheduled for the current release window. While US pricing has not yet been confirmed, the UK price sits within the previously expected range of around $250 to $270.
The GDG-B100 marks an interesting shift for the Mudman lineup. It keeps the rugged identity of the series but moves in a slightly different direction from earlier models. The watch features Casio’s Carbon Core Guard structure, a bio-based resin case, mud-resistant and dust-resistant buttons, and 200-meter water resistance. It measures 63.6 x 49.6 x 16.2 mm and weighs 66 g, making it a large but relatively lightweight outdoor watch.
One of the standout features is the new MIP display, designed to improve readability in different lighting conditions. Casio has also added a red LED backlight, which is intended to help preserve night vision better than a standard bright white light. This could be useful for hiking, camping, night work, or other low-light outdoor activities.
The GDG-B100 also includes Bluetooth connectivity through the Casio Watches app. With the app, users can sync the time, receive phone notifications, and use a phone finder feature. The watch also includes an accelerometer for step tracking and fitness data. It can record distance, speed, pace, and calories, with storage for up to 100 running records.
However, this new Mudman does leave out some features found in the GW-9500 Mudman. It does not include Casio’s triple sensor system, meaning there is no built-in compass, altimeter, barometer, or thermometer. It also does not use Tough Solar charging. Instead, the GDG-B100 runs on a CR2032 battery, which Casio rates for around two years of use.
That change positions the GDG-B100 as a more affordable and fitness-focused branch of the Mudman family rather than a direct replacement for the sensor-packed GW-9500. With a UK price of £200, it comes in well below the GW-9500’s original launch price, making it a potentially attractive option for buyers who want Mudman durability, a modern display, Bluetooth features, and basic activity tracking without paying for advanced outdoor sensors.
For fans of rugged G-Shock watches, the Casio Mudman GDG-B100 could be one of the more interesting releases of the year. It blends classic Mudman toughness with a clearer display, red night-friendly illumination, and useful smart features, while keeping the price more accessible than higher-end adventure models.
