Casio’s Limited-Edition Sapphire G-Shock Is Finally Hitting the U.S.

Casio G-Shock MRGD5000 Blue Sapphire Limited Edition Coming to the US With $80,000 Price Tag

Casio is preparing to bring one of its most exclusive G-Shock watches to the United States: the G-Shock MR-G MRGD5000 Blue Sapphire. First introduced in Japan in October 2026, this ultra-premium digital timepiece is designed for collectors who want a rare blend of luxury materials, advanced durability, and classic G-Shock engineering.

The Casio G-Shock MRGD5000 is not just another high-end watch release. It is a strictly limited edition model, with only 20 units planned worldwide. Out of those, just six pieces are expected to be made available to buyers in the US. Each watch will carry a retail price of $80,000, making it one of the most expensive G-Shock models ever offered.

Casio is expected to release the US allocation in extremely small batches between December 2026 and June 2027. Given the limited production run, availability may be highly restricted, with units potentially arriving one at a time.

What sets the G-Shock MRGD5000 Blue Sapphire apart is its unusual construction. The watch features a shock-resistant structure that incorporates multiple blue sapphire crystal components, giving it a distinctive premium appearance while staying true to the rugged identity of the G-Shock lineup. The case also includes titanium elements, helping balance strength, durability, and lightweight comfort.

The watch is paired with a Dura Soft rubber strap, designed for flexibility and long-wearing comfort. It also uses a one-touch three-fold clasp, offering a secure fit with a refined finish.

Despite its luxury positioning, the Casio G-Shock MRGD5000 remains a fully functional digital watch packed with practical features. It supports Multi Band 6 radio-controlled timekeeping for improved accuracy, along with up to five time zones, making it useful for frequent travelers and international collectors.

Other built-in tools include a countdown timer, stopwatch, alarms, and a fully automatic calendar. The watch also features Tough Solar charging, allowing it to draw power from light sources and reduce the need for frequent battery changes.

As expected from a G-Shock model, the MRGD5000 Blue Sapphire offers serious durability. It is water resistant up to 200 meters, making it suitable for everyday wear and demanding environments, even though most buyers will likely treat this rare edition as a collectible piece.

With only six units heading to the US and just 20 available globally, the Casio G-Shock MRGD5000 Blue Sapphire is positioned as a statement watch for serious collectors. Its combination of sapphire crystal, titanium construction, solar charging, radio-controlled timekeeping, and extreme rarity makes it one of the most remarkable G-Shock releases in recent years.
