Casio introduces new full-metal G-Shock GST-W1000 watches with Tough Solar and Bluetooth
Casio has expanded its G-Shock lineup in Japan with three new full-metal G-Steel models designed for users who want rugged durability, premium materials, and everyday smart convenience in one analog watch. The new models are the G-Shock GST-W1000D-1AJF, GST-W1000D-2AJF, and GST-W1000D-3AJF, each offering a different dial color while sharing the same tough stainless steel construction and advanced feature set.
The GST-W1000D-1AJF comes with a classic black dial, giving it a bold and versatile look that fits both casual and professional settings. The GST-W1000D-3AJF adds a green dial for a more distinctive military-inspired style, while the GST-W1000D-2AJF features a deep blue dial combined with a black bezel for a sportier, modern appearance.
All three watches use a large case measuring 50 x 45.5 x 13.2 mm and weigh 138 grams. That size places them firmly in the bold G-Shock category, but the full-metal finish gives the series a more refined character than many traditional resin G-Shock models. Each watch is paired with an integrated stainless steel bracelet and a one-push tri-fold clasp, offering a secure fit and a more premium feel on the wrist.
A major highlight of the new G-Shock GST-W1000 series is Casio’s Tough MVT.2 movement. This self-developed movement is designed to detect shocks and magnetic interference, helping the hands maintain accurate positioning even during demanding daily use. For a watch built around durability, that added protection is an important feature.
Although these models feature a full-metal exterior, Casio has preserved the shock-resistant structure that G-Shock watches are known for. The watches use carbon-fiber-reinforced resin inside the case structure, helping absorb impacts while keeping the build strong and dependable.
The GST-W1000 series also brings several practical functions normally associated with digital G-Shock models. Despite being analog watches, they include Bluetooth connectivity, world time, stopwatch, timer, and an automatic calendar. These features make the new models suitable for frequent travelers, active users, and anyone who wants more functionality than a standard analog timepiece.
Another key feature is Tough Solar charging. The solar system is built under the watch face, allowing the watches to recharge using light and greatly reducing the need for battery replacements. With regular exposure to light, the watches can continue running for long periods without interruption.
The new full-metal G-Shock GST-W1000 watches also support radio-controlled timekeeping through Multiband 6. This helps the watches automatically adjust to accurate time signals in supported regions. Combined with Bluetooth connectivity, the series is clearly designed to deliver reliable timekeeping with minimal effort from the wearer.
Casio has also equipped the watches with 200-meter water resistance, making them suitable for swimming and other water-related activities. Other premium touches include an LED light for better visibility in dark environments, anti-reflective sapphire glass for improved scratch resistance and readability, and a battery indicator display so users can easily check the power status.
In Japan, the Casio G-Shock GST-W1000D-1AJF and GST-W1000D-3AJF are priced at ¥110,000, which is approximately $699. The blue-dial GST-W1000D-2AJF is listed at ¥115,500, or around $735. Casio currently has the G-Shock GST-W1000 models scheduled for an October 2026 release in Japan.
For now, there is no confirmed information on when the new Casio G-Steel GST-W1000 full-metal watches will launch in the United States or other global markets. However, with their combination of stainless steel construction, Tough Solar charging, Bluetooth support, radio-controlled accuracy, and classic G-Shock durability, these models are likely to attract strong interest from collectors and everyday watch fans alike.
