Casio Unveils Two Solar-Powered, Radio-Controlled Watches Built for Effortless Timekeeping

Casio is expanding its Baby-G lineup in Japan with two fresh additions to the G-Shock BGA-2800 Series, bringing together shock resistance, solar charging, and radio-controlled timekeeping in a sporty, everyday package. Both new models lean into a cool blue theme and use a round face that mixes classic analog hands with three digital windows for quick, at-a-glance information.

The first model, the Casio G-Shock Baby-G BGA-2800-2A2, pairs a clean white dial with rose-gold accents for a slightly more polished look. It comes in a navy blue resin case and matching strap, finished off with a translucent inner bezel that keeps the design modern and lightweight.

The second option, the BGA-2800-7A3, goes brighter overall with a white dial, white resin case, and white strap. Dark blue details add contrast, while a light blue translucent inner bezel ties the color scheme together and gives it a crisp, sporty feel.

Beyond looks, these watches are built for practical daily use. The BGA-2800 series supports Multi-Band 6 radio-controlled timekeeping, helping the watch automatically stay accurate by syncing with compatible time signals. It also includes world time and a fully automatic calendar. The digital displays handle essentials like the date and day of the week, and they also support commonly used tools such as a stopwatch, countdown timer, and alarms.

For visibility in different lighting, Casio includes a double LED backlight. The watches also feature Tough Solar charging to reduce battery worries, and they’re rated for 100 meters of water resistance, making them suitable for swimming and everyday wear in wet conditions.

In Japan, both the Casio G-Shock Baby-G BGA-2800-2A2 and BGA-2800-7A3 are available for pre-order at ¥23,100 (around $145) each. Casio hasn’t confirmed whether these specific colorways will launch in other regions, but the brand already offers various Baby-G watches through its official online sales channels in the United States.
