Casio proudly announces the introduction of the MRG-B5000R, the latest addition to the MR-G series within the G-SHOCK lineage, as it commemorates the 40th anniversary of these iconic timepieces. The MRG-B5000R not only continues the tradition of the original G-SHOCK’s design but also introduces a new level of comfort with the incorporation of the Dura Soft band.
The MRG-B5000R retains the quintessential shape of the first-ever G-SHOCK watch, which is emblematic of the brand’s heritage. This new model elevates the MR-G series to the apex of the G-SHOCK range by combining advanced technologies and expert metallurgy. Preceded by the MRG-B5000, this latest release boasts enhancements such as the Multi-Guard Structure for superior polishing and the use of COBARION®, a durable alloy, giving it a highly sought-after status within the G-SHOCK flagship models.
Designed with both elegance and utility in mind, the MRG-B5000R features the durable Dura Soft band for ultimate comfort and flexibility. Its resistance to discoloration and wear is remarkable, and the integration of titanium components via insert-molding serves to strengthen the attachment to the watch case. The Dura Soft band provides a snug fit even during intense activities, complemented by a stylish one-touch, titanium 3-fold clasp.
In a nod to its roots, the MRG-B5000R’s design pays tribute to the original G-SHOCK DW-5000C-1B, including gold embellishments. The case is treated with diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating while the side buttons are finished with gold IP. The band is textured, featuring enduring design elements like the “SHOCK RESIST” emblem and the classic brick pattern, intertwining G-SHOCK’s legacy of rugged durability with modern aesthetics.
The MRG-B5000R comes with comprehensive technical specifications, ensuring it is well-equipped for the most demanding of environments. It features shock resistance and water resistance up to 200 meters. Its radio wave reception capability includes frequencies pertinent to various time signal transmitters around the world, ensuring accurate timekeeping international. Bluetooth® low energy technology provides seamless communication for mobile link functions, enabling easy management and time adjustments through the dedicated CASIO WATCHES app.
Other features include world time selection from 39 cities, a 1/100 second stopwatch, countdown timer, 5 daily alarms, and a solar-charging system that ensures extended operation. It’s capable of running for approximately 10 months on a full charge with all functions in use or around 22 months using the power-saving feature.
With a case measuring 49.4 × 43.2 × 12.9 mm and a total weight of approximately 103g, the MRG-B5000R is an excellent combination of robustness, advanced functionality, and style, expected from the G-SHOCK brand.
