Casio Oceanus OCW-SG1000MC-1AJR Debuts as a 300-Piece Limited Edition Manta with a One-of-a-Kind Ceramic Bezel
Casio has introduced a striking new addition to its premium Oceanus Manta lineup in Japan: the Oceanus OCW-SG1000MC-1AJR. Limited to just 300 units, this high-end titanium watch stands out with a unique marble ceramic bezel created by blending black and white ceramic before shaping. Because the pattern forms naturally during the process, each watch has its own distinct look, making every piece slightly different from the next.
The design theme is called Ocean Surge, and Casio leans heavily into that idea throughout the watch. The bezel’s black-and-white ceramic pattern is accented by blue-green tones where the colors meet, giving it the feel of moving water. The glossy black ceramic dial adds a deep, refined finish, while the caseback features an engraved swirl design inspired by the motion of tides. To complete the premium appearance, Casio has applied a DLC coating to both the case and bracelet.
Beneath its artistic exterior, the OCW-SG1000MC-1AJR is built on the familiar Oceanus Manta SG1000 platform. It features a titanium case and a solid titanium bracelet, keeping the watch relatively light at around 100 g. The case measures 47.5 x 43 x 11.7 mm, and it offers 10 bar water resistance. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides helps improve visibility, while Neobrite provides low-light readability.
Power comes from Casio’s Gallium Tough Solar system. On a full charge, the watch can run for approximately five months with regular use. If stored in the dark with power saving enabled, it can last up to around 18 months. This makes it a practical luxury watch for collectors who may rotate it alongside other pieces.
For accuracy, Casio gives the Oceanus OCW-SG1000MC-1AJR several options. It supports Multiband 6 radio-controlled timekeeping in Japan, North America, Europe, and China. Bluetooth connectivity also allows it to sync with a smartphone, expanding world time support to about 300 cities. Without radio or Bluetooth syncing, the quartz movement is rated at an accuracy of around 15 seconds per month.
The new model is priced at ¥748,000 in Japan. Excluding Japan’s 10% consumption tax, that works out to roughly $4,310, depending on exchange rates. Compared with a previous limited Oceanus Manta model, the OCW-SG1000CN-1AJR, which featured an Edo Kiriko cut sapphire bezel and was limited to 600 units at ¥682,000, this new release is more expensive and twice as exclusive.
The Casio Oceanus OCW-SG1000MC-1AJR is scheduled to launch on November 13 in Japan. Each piece will be serial numbered and sold only through selected Casio Watch Partner Shops, making it one of the more collectible Oceanus Manta releases of the year.
