Casio Unveils Europe’s New Full-Metal G‑Shock with Dazzling Rainbow Ion-Plated Finish

Casio has officially brought its new rainbow-accented full-metal G-Shock to the UK, giving European buyers an early chance to pick up one of the brand’s most eye-catching premium digital models. The Casio G-Shock Full Metal GMW-BZ5000RC-1 is already on sale in the UK, with a broader European rollout expected soon after its initial Japan launch in early April 2026.

In the UK, the GMW-BZ5000RC-1 is listed on Casio’s online store for £770. Casio is also placing purchase limits on the release, allowing a maximum of three units per customer, and the watch is excluded from voucher code discounts. Elsewhere in Europe, the model has appeared at a French retailer with a €799 recommended retail price and an expected availability window of May 2026—suggesting the wider European release is close.

What makes the GMW-BZ5000RC-1 stand out is its distinctive rainbow ion-plated case center, positioned between a silver stainless steel bezel and a metal screw lock back. The rainbow theme continues as a subtle accent around the negative MIP LCD screen (a black-background display), adding color without overpowering the classic square G-Shock look. Casio also leans into premium finishing here, mixing hairline and mirror polishing on the bezel and case, paired with a matching silver-tone metal bracelet for a cohesive full-metal design.

Beyond the visuals, this model delivers the feature set many buyers expect from a high-end G-Shock. You get a customizable digital display, Bluetooth connectivity, and radio-controlled timekeeping via Multiband 6 for reliable automatic time updates. It also supports multiple world time zones and includes practical everyday tools like a 1/100th-second stopwatch, countdown timer, and five daily alarms.

Power and durability remain core to the G-Shock identity. The GMW-BZ5000RC-1 uses Casio’s Tough Solar charging to help keep the watch running with minimal fuss, and it’s water-resistant to 200 meters—making it suitable for swimming and water sports as well as daily wear.

For shoppers outside Europe, availability is still unclear. Casio has not yet confirmed when (or if) the G-Shock Full Metal GMW-BZ5000RC-1 will launch in the US, but the UK release and expected European expansion indicate momentum for a wider rollout.
