Casio’s Carbon-Fiber MTG-B4000 May Be Getting a Limited-Edition Drop This Year

Casio G-Shock MTG-B4000 Limited Edition Rumor Gains Momentum After New Certification Listing

A fresh certification listing for a Casio MTG-B4000 model has sparked new excitement among G-Shock fans, raising speculation that a new limited-edition MT-G watch could be on the way.

The newly surfaced registration appears in an international certification database, but the exact identity of the model remains unconfirmed. For now, the listing has opened the door to two major possibilities: a special year-end MT-G release or an early entry connected to G-Shock’s upcoming 45th-anniversary lineup expected around autumn 2027.

The year-end limited-edition theory currently seems more likely. Casio has previously used the end of the year to introduce exclusive MT-G models, including special releases in 2023 and 2024. That pattern paused last year, which makes the appearance of a new MTG-B4000 registration even more interesting for collectors watching Casio’s release schedule closely.

One of the biggest talking points is whether this mystery MTG-B4000 could feature a rainbow-style finish. Limited MT-G watches have often leaned into bold color treatments, and rainbow finishes remain especially popular among G-Shock collectors. However, there is no confirmed evidence that the newly registered MTG-B4000 will use this design. The speculation is mainly fueled by Casio’s recent release of a rainbow model in another full-metal G-Shock series, making the idea feel possible but far from guaranteed.

The MTG-B4000 line itself is already one of Casio’s most technically interesting recent G-Shock releases. Introduced in May 2025, it became Casio’s first commercially available G-Shock to use a frame developed with the help of generative AI. That alone made it stand out in the premium G-Shock lineup, blending advanced design methods with the brand’s familiar toughness.

The watch uses a combination of stainless steel, laminated carbon, and glass-fiber sheets over a carbon-fiber-reinforced resin case. It also features a stainless steel caseback made through metal injection molding and a sapphire crystal for added durability and scratch resistance. These materials give the MTG-B4000 a high-end construction while keeping the rugged identity that defines the G-Shock name.

Inside, the MTG-B4000 runs on Casio’s Module 5743. Key features include Multi-Band 6 radio-controlled timekeeping, Bluetooth connectivity through the Casio Watches app, and Tough Solar charging. That mix of premium materials, smart connectivity, and low-maintenance solar power makes the MTG-B4000 one of the more advanced models in Casio’s MT-G range.

The latest known model in the lineup, the MTG-B4000B-1AJF, arrived in June with a price of ¥176,000, or about $1,106. That version features red accents and a carbon-layered frame, giving it a sportier appearance while preserving the upscale look of the MT-G series.

At this stage, Casio has not announced a new MTG-B4000 limited edition, and the certification listing does not reveal final design details, pricing, release timing, or regional availability. Still, the registration is enough to get collectors paying attention, especially with Casio’s history of surprise premium G-Shock releases.

If the listing does turn out to be a year-end limited MT-G, it could become one of the most anticipated G-Shock launches of the season. And if the rumored rainbow direction proves accurate, the MTG-B4000 may quickly become a highly sought-after collector’s piece. For now, fans will have to wait for official confirmation from Casio.
