Casio Teases an Upcoming Exclusive G‑Shock Digital Watch Release

Casion is preparing to drop a fresh G-Shock collaboration watch, and this one comes with a clear milestone: it’s being released to celebrate the opening of the Porter Kobe concept store in Japan. That new location will be Porter’s second physical store in the country, giving fans of the Japanese accessories brand (from Yoshida & Co.) a unique reason to visit in person.

The upcoming Casio G-Shock x Porter Kobe collaboration is built around the classic DW-5600, one of the most recognizable square G-Shock silhouettes. Early teaser images suggest a clean, street-ready design featuring a black resin case and matching strap, contrasted by eye-catching turquoise accents. Those color hits appear on functional text and the G-Shock logo on the bezel, while the band showcases branding from Porter’s Potr sub-label along with Yoshida & Co. logos, reinforcing the limited collab identity.

As you’d expect from a DW-5600-based release, the watch sticks to a straightforward digital layout with a rectangular display, using a light background and darker digits for a familiar, easy-to-read look. 기능-wise, it keeps the dependable everyday toolkit that has made the DW-5600 a long-running favorite: a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, hourly time signal, and a multi-function alarm. An LED backlight helps with visibility in low-light situations, and wearers can switch between 12-hour and 24-hour time formats. Practicality continues with a fully automatic calendar that’s set through the year 2099.

Durability is also part of the package. The watch is rated for 200 meters of water resistance, making it suitable for swimming and daily wear without worry. Battery life is expected to land around five years using a CR2016 battery, which should appeal to anyone who prefers low-maintenance reliability in a daily watch.

Availability is expected to be tightly controlled. The Casio G-Shock x Porter Kobe watch is rumored to be sold exclusively at the Porter Kobe concept store when it opens on January 10, 2026. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but for context, standard DW-5600 models in Japan typically sell in the range of ¥14,300 to ¥19,800 (about $92 to $127). If this collaboration follows the pattern of other limited releases, collectors may want to plan early—especially since store-exclusive drops often have limited stock and high demand.
