Casio Expands Its Ultra-Slim Edifice Line: Sapphire Crystal Models Launch in More Countries

Casio has expanded its Edifice lineup in early 2026 with two freshly released slim stainless-steel watches: the Edifice EFB-109D-3AV and EFB-109D-5AV. After first appearing on Casio’s international site, both models are now officially available across parts of Europe, giving fans of clean, modern analog watches two new color options to choose from.

Pricing is straightforward. In European markets such as the Netherlands, Spain, and Germany, the Casio Edifice EFB-109D-3AV and EFB-109D-5AV are listed for €139 each through the brand’s official online store. That places them in line with previous releases in the same family, including the EFB-109D-2AV introduced in 2025, making these new versions more of a style refresh than a price jump.

The biggest visual difference between the two is the dial. The Edifice EFB-109D-3AV features a gradient blue-green dial that becomes lighter toward the center, creating a subtle sunburst-like effect. The Edifice EFB-109D-5AV goes for warmer tones with a brown gradient finish that offers a more classic, earthy look while still feeling contemporary.

Both watches share the same slim, silver-tone stainless-steel case and bracelet design. The case measures 43.5 x 38.5 x 9.2 mm, keeping the profile noticeably thin for a metal sports-style watch. A matching stainless-steel bracelet completes the look and uses a one-touch 3-fold clasp designed for easy on-and-off wear.

Functionality remains intentionally simple and practical. You get a traditional three-hand analog layout, plus a date display for everyday convenience. Accuracy is rated at within 20 seconds per month, and the watch runs on an SR920SW battery with an estimated three-year battery life.

Casio also builds durability into the EFB-109 series. The dial is protected by sapphire crystal, a premium touch at this price point thanks to its added scratch resistance compared to standard mineral glass. There’s also a screw lock back, and water resistance is rated to 100 meters, making it suitable for daily wear and plenty of water exposure, though it’s not positioned as a dedicated dive watch.

For now, these new Casio Edifice EFB-109D-3AV and EFB-109D-5AV models are confirmed for Europe, and it’s still uncertain if or when they’ll arrive in other regions like North America. If you’ve been waiting for a slim Edifice with sapphire crystal and a fresh gradient dial, these two new releases deliver that formula in two distinct styles without raising the entry price.
