GIGABYTE has rolled out an exciting new utility for its Z890 motherboards, promising significant performance enhancements for Intel Core Ultra 200S processors. This feature, dubbed “Ultra Turbo Mode,” is designed to boost gaming and processing power without the need for additional hardware investments.
GIGABYTE boasts that Ultra Turbo Mode can achieve up to a 35% improvement in gaming performance. This innovative utility tweaks the BIOS settings on Intel’s Z890 platform, optimizing hardware parameters to get the most out of the Core Ultra Series 2 processors. It’s reminiscent of a previous feature they offered for the AM5 platform, known as “X3D Turbo Mode.”
The company claims notable performance gains such as a 68% improvement in the AIDA64 memory benchmark and up to 35% higher frame rates in popular games like Hitman 3: Dartmoor. However, potential users should approach these figures with caution until more concrete evidence is provided. Such substantial increases are unusual and often not seen even with generational upgrades.
Despite the bold claims, Ultra Turbo Mode is expected to provide tangible benefits through various CPU and memory optimizations. It introduces three distinct performance profiles within the BIOS: LV2 Turbo Intel 200S Boost, LV2 Turbo Mode, and LV3 Extreme Mode. Each profile serves to unlock different levels of hardware potential. LV1 Turbo focuses on optimizing Fabric, Die-to-Die, and DDR5 memory clocks. LV2 takes it a step further by enhancing CPU and DRAM parameters, while LV3 Extreme Mode supposedly releases the maximum performance potential.
While GIGABYTE has provided limited details about the LV3 mode, it is anticipated to incorporate additional tweaks like power management and user workload prioritization, ensuring that critical tasks receive the necessary resources.
This new Ultra Turbo Mode will soon be available on all GIGABYTE Z890 motherboards through a BIOS update, promising exciting possibilities for gaming enthusiasts and power users alike.
