Bloodborne and God of War III Remastered show promising performance in PS4 emulation tests on RTX 5060
Fresh performance testing suggests that PS4 emulation is continuing to improve, with demanding PlayStation titles now reaching surprisingly playable frame rates on modern PC hardware. In a recent test, Bloodborne and God of War III Remastered were both pushed through emulation using a GeForce RTX 5060 paired with a Ryzen 5 7600, offering a closer look at how well this setup can handle two well-known PlayStation classics.
Bloodborne was the first game tested, and the results were encouraging for fans still hoping to experience the gothic action RPG at higher frame rates. The game ran at an average of around 75 to 100 FPS, depending on the area being tested. In some sections, performance climbed even higher, reaching roughly 100 to 120 FPS.
That level of performance is notable because Bloodborne has long been locked to limited performance on its original console release. Seeing the game operate at frame rates well above 60 FPS through emulation highlights how far compatibility and optimization have come. While the experience may not be perfect in every scenario, the test shows that smooth gameplay is becoming increasingly realistic on capable PC hardware.
The performance metrics also revealed that the GeForce RTX 5060 was doing most of the heavy lifting. GPU utilization stayed between 95% and 99%, showing that the graphics card was being used almost to its full potential. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 5 7600 remained at around 40% CPU usage, suggesting there were no major processor-related bottlenecks during the Bloodborne test.
God of War III Remastered was also tested and delivered a mostly steady 60 FPS experience. For much of the gameplay, performance appeared smooth and stable, which is a positive sign for players interested in running this action-heavy title through PS4 emulation.
However, the test was not completely free from issues. In certain areas, frame rates briefly dropped as low as 10 FPS. These dips were sharp but temporary, with performance recovering quickly and returning to a smoother 60 FPS range. This suggests that while the game is playable, some scenes may still need further emulator optimization to deliver a consistently flawless experience.
Interestingly, God of War III Remastered showed much lower CPU usage than Bloodborne. The Ryzen 5 7600 stayed around 15% utilization during the test, while the GeForce RTX 5060 typically sat between 20% and 25% usage. This points to a different performance profile compared to Bloodborne, with the game not pushing the hardware as aggressively in the same way.
Overall, these results are a promising sign for PS4 emulation on PC. Bloodborne running between 75 and 120 FPS is especially exciting, while God of War III Remastered maintaining a mostly stable 60 FPS shows that more PlayStation titles could soon become highly playable through emulation.
There are still occasional performance drops and stability issues to consider, but the progress is clear. With stronger GPUs, modern CPUs, and continued emulator improvements, classic PS4 games are getting closer to delivering smoother, higher-frame-rate experiences on PC than ever before.
