BioStar EdgeComp MT-N150 Mini PC Arrives With Intel Twin Lake Power for Industrial Edge Computing
BioStar has expanded its industrial computing lineup with the EdgeComp MT-N150, a compact mini PC designed for edge deployment, automation systems, digital signage, and other business-focused environments where reliability and flexible connectivity matter more than raw performance.
At the heart of the EdgeComp MT-N150 is Intel’s N150 processor, part of the Twin Lake family. This chip features 4 cores and 4 threads, built entirely on Intel’s Gracemont efficiency-core architecture. With a low 6-watt power profile, it is not intended for demanding workloads such as heavy content creation, advanced data processing, or high-end multitasking. Instead, it is tuned for always-on efficiency, light computing tasks, embedded applications, and industrial systems that need dependable operation in a small footprint.
Performance from the Intel N150 is modest by current consumer PC standards. In multi-core synthetic testing, it sits closer to older entry-level mobile processors rather than modern high-performance chips. However, that is not the main goal of this system. For industrial mini PCs, the priorities are often stability, low power consumption, easy integration, and long-term deployment.
The EdgeComp MT-N150 supports up to 16 GB of DDR5-4800 memory through a single RAM slot. Storage and expansion options are flexible for such a compact machine, with support for M.2 2230, M.2 3042/3052, M.2 2242/2280, and SATA III configurations. This gives system integrators more freedom to adapt the device for different use cases, whether it is running a lightweight operating system, storing local data, or supporting specialized modules.
Connectivity is one of the strongest parts of the MT-N150. The mini PC includes dual USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, dual USB 2.0 Type-A ports, a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 100-watt Power Delivery support, dual HDMI outputs, dual 1Gb Ethernet ports, audio input, and audio output.
The inclusion of dual Gigabit Ethernet makes the system especially useful for industrial networking, monitoring equipment, gateways, kiosks, and edge computing setups where wired network reliability is essential. Optional wireless expansion is also available through add-on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules. For remote installations or mobile deployments, 4G LTE connectivity can also be configured.
Despite its industrial focus, the EdgeComp MT-N150 remains very compact. It measures 19.6 x 19.3 x 4.5 cm, or roughly 7.72 x 7.6 x 1.77 inches, with a total volume of around 1.7 liters. Its low-profile design makes it suitable for tight spaces, control cabinets, wall-mounted systems, retail installations, and other areas where a standard desktop PC would be impractical.
The design is understated and functional, which fits its purpose. This is not a flashy consumer mini PC built for gaming or entertainment. It is a practical computing platform aimed at businesses and industrial users that need a small, efficient, and configurable system for continuous operation.
BioStar has not publicly announced pricing for the EdgeComp MT-N150. That is common for industrial computing products, as final pricing often depends on configuration, deployment requirements, and order volume. Businesses interested in the system will likely need to request a quote based on their specific needs.
For everyday home users, the MT-N150 may not be the most suitable choice unless they specifically need its industrial features. Consumer-focused mini PCs with similar entry-level processors are generally easier to buy and may offer better value for basic home computing, media playback, or office tasks. However, for edge computing, automation, networked equipment, and embedded applications, the BioStar EdgeComp MT-N150 offers a compact and efficient platform with the connectivity needed for professional deployments.
